I stayed here for a couple of nights, checking in was easy and lovely staff, the room was very small and in need of updating, the first day we had no hot water in the sink but the shower had hot water. There wasn't really anywhere to get ready for a night out, there was a small mirror behind the door and an extension lead attached to a table at the other side of room, I ended up buying another extension lead and putting the mirror on the floor to do my hair and makeup, not a great position at 61. The bed was comfy and clean, although the bedding was old and tatty, even had a small hole in the quilt cover. When we asked for extra milk and toilet paper it was brought to us without a problem. The breakfast was lovely and cooked just right. The location was brilliant and the building really beautiful from the outside like most of windermere. I would stay here again but probably ask for a different room and be more prepared to rough it

We have been to this nice small guest house with a group of friends, the hotel was very warm , clean , the bedrooms also tidy , and it has a nice view from the window.. The lady who works there is very very respectful, kind , friendly and welcoming.. The place so quiet, and very close to the train station and Windermere city centre. There’s a supermarket next to the hotel , cafe , and a lot to explore.. highly recommend it for staying at Windermere ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When I entered the room, I took off my shoes — which is when I realized the carpet was wet. Not just a little damp — wet. Like “someone-mopped-without-warning” wet. It was absolutely disgusting. The bathroom had a weird smell to it, like a mix between cleaning products. And I’ve seen airplane toilets with more space than that bathroom. No exaggeration. The sink? It was the size of my palm. No kidding. (See photo.)

I booked this guest house for my mums birthday. My mums birthday was in February, unfortunately due to an accident I had. I wasn't able to do something nice for my mums 70th. I said to my mum we will go away for a few days |My mum wanted to go to windermere for a few days. I booked this guest house only because I was either looking for a twin room, although we would have shared a double room if needs be. |The room available was a family room, so I booked it. On arrival, we were greeted with the owner. Who showed us up to our room. Which was at the top of the building. I was worried about climbing the stairs, after my accident I hadn't climbed stars. However, I managed ok. The room was small, although it was clean. My mum took the double bed, and I took the single. On each side, if the double bed was bedside drawers. They wasn't anything next to the single bed. I had to put my cups of tea on the floor. They were an extension plug socket. To put your own charger in. |In our room, they were a form we had to fill out and leave downstairs ready for breakfast the next morning. Even though we did this. They still couldn't get our breakfast right. They had to ask us what we wanted. I thought we had put down what we wanted. The tables were a bit close together, and I found it difficult to get in and out. When I wanted to get up to help myself to coffee or cereal. |The guest house is on a main road, with a good open top hop on bus service. That runs every 20 minutes. It's a 25/ 30-minute walk to the lake. They are a few shops close by and there are plenty of places to eat and drink. The train station is a few minutes' walk away, with a bus station. If you fancy a bus ride to somewhere else. We didn't have a car so the bus to kendal. Made a change. |If we go to windermere again, I would look at better hotels or guest houses. We enjoyed our few days at windermere and the...

I visited with my adult daughter this weekend and we stayed in a twin room at the top of the house. I had been a bit worried after reading some of the reviews but there was no reason to be at all. ||||The guest house was in a great location and self check in was very easy. It is a very comfortable rather than boutique place so although yes could probably do with some updating in some areas, it was perfect for us and very good value for money. Everywhere was very clean and the room spacious enough for us to be able to stay in and relax for a couple of hours one afternoon. The beds were very comfortable and the shower decent. I have dietary requirements of which the staff were very accommodating even asking me what my preferred type of milk was. Breakfast was lovely and a good start to the day. ||||We chose not to park in the cark park as we did not want the hassle of being blocked in etc so paid £18 for 3 days in the car park across the road.||||Although the place is on a main road and there were children staying in near by rooms we did not struggle with noise at all and slept soundly, even with the window open.||||Would definitely recommend the small exhibition at the library across the road about The Children of Windermere.||||Very handy for shops, bars and restaurants and about a 25 minute walk to the Lake although there were also bus stops en route. ||||We would...
