First time stay |We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights with our friends .Self check in was simple with key boxes on entrance and rooms were ready by 2pm .We parked at the back of the guest house .It does have limited parking (9 rooms (7 bays) but there is other parking available .Both rooms were lovely and clean and had everything we needed available in our room for our mini break.(room 9 and room 4) from tea/coffee facilities and water. Towels also supplied and the shower had a shower gel dispenser .All lovely and clean.Hardly any noise and the view we had(room 9) was of the mountain Breakfast was lovely and pre order of hot food is a simple process I had the full english.Cereal,toast, jam and marmalade and fruit juices self service..No problems with any of it. Our host kirsty was warm and friendly and could answer any queries we had about the area.Its an ideal base literally a stones throw away windermere town with bus routes to get to bowness etc. Lots of lovely resturants nearby .We ate at the Brown Sugar Resturant and San Pietro both highly recommended and within walking distance.We used the lounge on the evening to play cards with our friends,wine glasses and a radio are also supplied by the guest house.It was lovely!! From the moment we arrived, we were made to welcome and at ease. Everything was fully explained to us beforehand and at the time making it really easy and stress free. I had paid for some extras for my wife’s birthday which were ready in our room when we arrived for her birthday. The room although small, was lovely and had an amazing view which was a huge bonus. All the little extras such as water, biscuits, usb charging ports & even a slate to put your hot straighteners were provided. These are the little things that make a good hotel, a great one. The breakfast was also excellent! In fact we ate at a different place in the town the day earlier and that was no where near as good! Please keep doing what you are doing and putting your guests first. You’re on a winner there and long may it continue for you. Anyone reading this who is thinking of coming and staying at the Holly Lodge, let this be your tipping point. The next time we come back, we will be staying there again.
