Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time in here in what must be ten years, and what a change! A much improved, more open interior; with far better food than I recall. We took a window seat, which on a nicer day would have been even better. Sadly today the weather's miserable, but our mood improved once we stepped inside this lovely cafe. All the staff were cheerful and our food was served promptly. Portion sizes were generous, for both the food and my partner's cappuccino. As I have a very sweet tooth, as well as ordering a breakfast of Eggs Benedict I went for a slice of the rather wonderful looking almond and raspberry cake that was sat on the counter when I went to order. So glad I did as it was divine. Breakfast was pretty decent too - the poached eggs were suitably runny. My only slight quibble would be that the cooked elements of our meal could have been warmer (they certainly weren't cold, but not piping hot either); but the flavours were everything you could ask for - I ordered avocado as an addition, and as mentioned above the size of this extra was also generous. Would definitely recommend a visit, and won't leave it another ten years before coming in here...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family of 4 had breakfast one day this week. I was asked if my husband would like a medium or large cooked breakfast. I asked for a large. I asked for a vegetarian breakfast for me and asked for it to be large. I was told the veggie breakfast only came as 1 size. I asked for 2x slices of toast with mine. The kids meals and hubby's was fine, I had the usual egg, tomato, veggie sausages and beans and HALF a mushroom š³ I asked what happened to the other half to be told the veggie breakfast just comes like this and just 1x piece of toast. Very jealous of hubby who had a whole mushroom š¤š I thought it was a bit stingy serving me half! If you can't afford to put 1x whole mushroom with a cooked breakfast with 2x toast as requested please up the price to allow for it. (Although, I felt the price I paid for the veggie breakfast would have allowed a whole mushroom and 2x toast)
Hubby and kids were happy with theirs. I did buy some cakes after we ate as visiting my Nan. My Nan enjoyed what we bought, they were delicious.
The cafe is a lovely cafe, lots of seating but didn't feel crowded. Lovely and...
