We recently hosted a wedding event in your function hall and would like to share our feedback regarding our experience. Unfortunately, there were several issues that left us quite disappointed. To begin with, there was considerable miscommunication among staff members. Initially, we were informed that we could use the kitchen to refill water; however, the receptionist later advised that access to the kitchen was not permitted, and that we would need to request water through reception each time. We were also told we could use the faucet in the restroom to refill, which we found highly inappropriate for a hospitality venue. Furthermore, towards the end of the event, around 6:45 p.m., the receptionist (whose name we believe is Sophie) came to the hall and asked how much longer we would be using the space. We politely responded that we would be finished within 15 minutes as we were in the process of tidying up and removing decorations. Despite our efforts to clear the hall promptly, at 7:00 p.m. she informed us that we had exceeded our booking time by an hour and would be charged for an additional hour. This came as a shock, as we were clearly in the process of leaving, with most of our belongings already outside the main door. We tried to explain that the delay was due to the lack of a lift, which required us to carry items up and down the stairs. During this interaction, the receptionist spoke to her colleague in another language and laughed, which we found unprofessional and disrespectful. It made us feel uncomfortable and excluded, as though the conversation was deliberately held in a language we could not understand. This behavior is not reflective of the level of service we would expect from a reputable hotel. We were deeply disappointed, especially for the couple who later received a call requesting payment for the alleged extra hour. This situation was both inappropriate and unnecessary. Overall, our experience was far below expectations. We felt that the service lacked professionalism, inclusivity, and courtesy. We sincerely hope that the management addresses these concerns to ensure that future guests do not encounter a...
Read moreI checked in for 4 nights and left after 2 nights. I read such great reviews but it was so disappointing! First of all this place is very dated and the building is old. I had room 3 and I could hear EVERYTHING. The walls and floors are very thin and creaky. I could even hear the front doorbell when people arrived. I heard every step, every door, the dining room conversations, and even the Latvian center activities in the same building. There was a bathroom not associated with the guesthouse that I could hear ppl in using the hand dryer.
2 out of 4 showers were out of order. One of those showers was falling apart and the hand wand wouldn’t stay mounted. There were 12 rooms sharing these. Every bathroom is different in hardware. Some don’t have but one hook to hang stuff. There’s no shelving in any shower to put toiletries on. My room’s floors were dirty with lots of hair and debris. They did clean it for me after I asked them.
They don’t give wash cloths for face. Just a medium and big towel. The bed was high and looked like something you’d find in a psych hospital. I had to play white noise on blast and wear ear plugs to get sound sleep.
The staff were friendly and that was appreciated. Slight language barrier. The place was a good price and in a good location. I would not stay here...
Read moreFor our seven nights in London, we were looking for a hotel in the Paddington area (for access to Paddington Station) that served breakfast. We chose 72QT because it got good reviews, was located steps from Kensington Gardens, and because it amused me to stay in such a unique place. It also helped that the price was more than satisfactory. The room was clean and comfortable and (of course) small. It contained a sink, and there were two bathrooms (a full one and a sink/toilet) literally next door. Breakfast was basic (fried egg, slice of Canadian bacon, triangle of potato, roll, and small dish of baked beans), and also on offer was toast, yogurt, cereal, tea, juice, and a coffee maker that could do you anything from an Americano to double espresso. The staff was friendly and helpful. Tip: there are no elevators, so if that's a problem, request a ground floor room. Within walking distance of two Tube stops (Queensway and Bayswater), and several shops with packaged dinners and restaurants. Will...
