This beautiful cafe is located somewhere in Ealing Broadway(if u drive then just park at ealing lol) near hare & tortoise or the station :). They have a button that is written both in Japanese and English and it says push to open! How cute is that?!! Ok back to topic, the cafe is not too small for a cafe shop in London as you know most of cafe shop it's quite small, you can probably seat about 30 people max? Maybe more? Gives or takes anyways, the design or decor is quite clean and it's mixed like Japanese and french... they have quite some selection of pastries and cakes in which I got to sampled 3 different cakes. Chocolate praline: very rich in chocolate flavour and delicious crunchiness from the praline, I expected this cake to be softer but it's more on the hard side, however very delicious and wasn't crazily sweet that can bore u easily, best of my 3 sample so far.
Soufflé cheesecake: very typical Japanese cheesecake that is more hard than the fluffiness of traditional cheesecake like uncle tetsu style(sponge-like), I like any type of cheesecake so it was good in my opinion, nothing wow but still delicious, if ur aiming for more traditional type that is airy and fluffy then this isn't the one ur seeking, however if u just want a cheesecake, this one is not bad, give it a try urself.
Raspberry mousse: this cake is garnished with different berries on top and it has a full layer of mousse inside and it is wrapped around the mousse by a thin layer or cake surrounding the mousse, it's not too sweet either n delicious.
Matcha latte: matcha powder, milk turned into a latte with pretty design, I like it but it is not the best i would say, I feel like they use very little matcha which wasn't strong enough and I don't even like it it strong either, but the aroma isn't strong enough to...
Read moreUpsetting experience. There were two tables emptied with no one assisting my mom and I to be seated. The employees didn’t assist us at all and informed us to wait outside. After my mom and I ordered two pieces of cakes, two cups of coffee, and settled down, we were chitchatting and relaxing. However, when there were two Caucasians waiting for a table, the Asian waitress immediately tidied up our emptied plates and coffee and rushed us to leave not only once but twice. Simultaneously, we noticed there were multiple Caucasian customers who arrived and stayed at the cafe earlier than us. Ironically, the staff did not reach out to them and ask them to leave. I just don’t understand why my mom and I received such unequal treatment especially by an Asian employee herself. This is my first visit to this cafe but I’m afraid if you’re deemed as an Asian by the employees, you might not receive the same treatment and privilege as the rest of the Caucasians. I'm very upset about this circumstance and quite shook since this is my very first time facing racism ever since my last stay in Texas six years ago. I swear I'll NEVER EVER come...
Read moreThe cakes and bread are fantastic and the staff are brilliant, you are always met with a smile. The strawberry shortcake and banana cake are my two picks. The shortcake is the most popular cake in Japan, similar in popularity to our Victoria sponge cakes here.
The atmosphere is very Japanese, the design of the interior fits really well with a typical Japanese modern simplicity to it.
I can't say what the drinks are like as I've only bought a coffee once, the main event is the cake, but I'm sure the drinks match the quality of the food. The only thing I would note is the serving of coffee is quite small so if you are looking for a drink to walk to work with I'd avoid the coffees. However, it's fairly strong and the size matches well with the lightness of the cakes.
Having visited both of their shops a number of times I can say I very much prefer the Ealing branch as it's more spacious, although there is less seating.
I have been a dine in, takeaway and delivery customer, and all experiences were brilliant. If you have time and there is a free seat I recommend...
