I used to love this place but I have just walked in there this evening with the doors open and the 'coffee' (with and arrow pointing inside) sign outside and was refused Coffee because the staff had switched off the coffee machine! They told me they turn it off on the dot at six, I then look at my phone that has the correct time synced to the internet and watch it tick over to six in front of my eyes so they obviously had turned it off early. I mention this to the staff member to no effect. She then had the gumption to offer me tea!!!
This might seem trivial but I had literally left my house and braved rush hour traffic to visit this place for the coffee and they treat a regular and loyal customer like that.
I'm sorry but I have standards and they have just lost me as a customer.
I'm now sat in Cafe Zee around the corner enjoying a great cup of coffee where I will be taking my business and recommending to others from now on.
EDIT!
To make matters worse. The owner has replied to my review on trip advisor and has alleged completely different version of events that he in fact did not witness in which I apparently came in after closing time and lost my temper with the staff! All I did was flatly state 'Well then, I won't be coming back' and left.
I understand he is trying to protect the rep of his business but this is very unprofessional.
All they have to do is not turn their machines off early and not refuse to serve loyal customers coffee! It's pretty simple.
Don't go here. They would rather get off home than give that extra bit of service you expect from an Indy coffee house.
Cafe Zee know how to treat loyal customers and is open later plus they actually roast their own...
Read moreNice food and tea/coffee options. With delicious, rich, âfull-flavouredâ coffee. Only downside is that a) cups are small, even the largest ones are REALLY medium sized cups b) the food is quite expensive. A plus point is that the croissant size is quite larger than other places. Also great customer service ! WELL âŠ..
THATâS how it used to be. Since a few months now, especially since shop renovations/decorations the staff have become a LOT MORE COLDER. None of that lovely warm smiles, laughter or casual jokes that had been the foundation of their exceptional quality of service and food. Twice now since I have had their gluten free and dairy free cakes have I ended up with symptoms of consumption of allergic foods. I am very disappointed as this used to be of such high quality of service alongside coffee/food !!!
And now shortly after the above review, I have been BARRED from the shop. All based on the recommendations of a salesperson who used to be very kind and helpful to me initially. But since the renovations had become extremely cold and unwelcoming âŠâŠ.. EXTREMELY...
Read moreThe place is situated in a very nice spot and in front of the ending-buses (near Ealing Broadway underground station). That is how I've noticed the coffee shop.
I've always been fascinated to enter once because of the design and as well the positive reviews displayed close to them main entrance. Unfortunately today I've tried and I was very disappointed.
The prices are ridiculously expensive. I've paid 2.70 for a regular latte to take away size 8oz, which is usually the size for a double espresso. The design of the coffee shop is quite alright but this isn't justify that fact prices are not matching the sizes. This is including for the food too. For example butter croissant 1.80 and almond croissant 2.50. After 5 minutes that I've drunk my latte I had to stop to another coffee shop to re-order a normal regular latte. So if usually a regular latte will be enough for me today I had two get two because the first was not...
