We stayed here a few weeks ago to visit the natural history museum. Really great location close to many bars restaurants and very close to Earls Court Underground. Just an easy 20 minute walk to the museums. First floor room was a good size with the bonus of a balcony with bistro table and chairs (single) Could have done with a screen or something between the neighbouring room as the balcony is shared. A good comfortable bed too after a long days walking. You can get an excellent breakfast (and lunch and dinner!) at the Leon restaurant only about 2 minutes walk. Really helpful and friendly manager there. The downsides were that there was loads of dust on the top and rear of the TV. Also there was no remote supplied. We searched the room but couldn't find it.We asked at reception but they couldn't find one and couldn't help. The worst thing was that the shower cubicle was extremely small just the width of the bifold door. It wasn't possible to pick up anything you dropped without opening the door and we are regular size people not large sized at all. Overall the rooms could do with a bit of sprucing up as some areas looked a little tired but it was good value for a London hotel. We would visit again but a bigger shower would be...
Read moreFirstly the good, staff are very good, very friendly and a huge credit. Also location is fab a stones throw from Earls Court Tube. The reason I'm giving a 1 * is we were asked upfront to pay the bill £300 for 2 nights ( our fault for not asking to see the room first), we were in room 31 up 3 flights of stairs no lift, carpet threadbare. However our real issue was how cramp the room is, ( been to London many times and appreciate space can be an issue) Husband had to climb over me to get into bed. The shower is rubbish, takes ages to heat up and not adjustable from a high height not powerful at all, the cubicle was so tiny I dropped something on the floor and had to shimmy down the shower door to pick it up. ( iam an average size lady) same with the toilet, once you were seated your knees were touching the toilet roll.. a huge crack in the basin filled with pollyfiller unhygienic and unsightly. The free coffee was disgusting so bitter, almost stripped the roof linings of our mouth. The photos are a bit naughty as I doubt anyone would chose to stay if they saw room 31. All a bit tired, sad and unloved. Definitely will not recommend, the staff were wonderful though so they "saved the day" and we at least saw the funny side of the...
Read moreI recently stayed here while I was in London.
Location: The hotel is a few steps away from the Earls Court tube station, which is very convenient. Perfect for anyone looking to explore London. Plus close to some really nice pubs, souvenir shops, and Boots. The street that the hotel is gorgeous!
Hotel: The receptionist was very nice and recongized me every time I came through the door. Keys had to picked up/dropped at the reception. The lobby is kind of small, but had a lovely welcoming feeling. They would have cold water and mints on the desk for anyone to help themselves to. Breakfast is located downstairs in a nice greenhouse like building that let the sunshine in.
The Room: I got a standard en suite, which was nicely decorated with a 1700/1800's theme.. very lovely. The room and bathroom were a bit smaller, but that is expected with a vintage hotel and I did not mind. It was just hard to shower sometimes.
Breakfast was simple, but there were lots of options to choose from to fill up on. There was cheese, meats, chocolate chip bread, croissants, yogurt, fruit, cereal, toast, tea, and coffee.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and I will...
