We arrived at 11am, even though check in wasn’t until 2pm we were greeted by Michael, he let us check in early as our room was ready. He was super polite, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. There was someone at the front desk 24/7 and the gent looking after the desk during the night was lovely and friendly too but I didn’t catch his name. The door gets locked during the night and you just press the bell to get let in, keeping the hotel secure. Lift to our room was handy as we did have a small suitcase. Our room wasn’t the biggest but had been recently renovated (September 2021) and was very clean, fresh and comfy feeling. The bed was also very comfortable. Bathroom was very clean and very nicely presented. Room had a kettle, tea and coffee making facilities, shower, large wall mounted tv, hairdryer and nice big window. There wasn’t an iron / ironing board in the room but when I asked for one they quickly brought one which we were thankful for. The hotel was quiet and wasn’t full of rowdy guests, was a very short walk from Hyde park and also a very short walk from Queensway underground. The only minor issue we had was because our room was near the lift we heard it once or twice during the night. It didn’t last for long and it was literally only once or twice so definitely don’t let this put you off. We asked if they could look after our luggage on the day of checkout (11am) and they very kindly kept our suitcase and back pack safe until 6pm that evening. Overall very comfortable and happy stay, we will most definitely be staying here again on our next trip to London. Just to add, I’m generally incredibly fussy and this was a...
Read moreThese three stars is generous. We booked through a third party and chose this one for its price ~$200, free breakfast and location. However once we arrived it was clear that we were given the worst room in the hotel. I will say that each room came with a tablet device to carry which would be helpful if you didn’t want to carry your own phone around town but we found our phones to be just fine. Maybe ten years ago it was a good idea. For or room, we were placed in the basement next to the staffs entrance with a view of the downstairs area. If I were them I’d recommend not even offering rooms so small. The room was so tiny that we requested a new room but had to wait until the following day. We’re happy they moved us even though it was just for one night. Breakfast was quite limited as well with no variety at all, less than basic breakfast which was disappointing. We wouldn’t stay there again unfortunately. Also attach are images of the scary hairdryer that came with the room. It looks as if it melted and can burst into flames at any moment. The hairdryer in our second room was...
Read moreThis hotel is in a perfect location. Lots of stores and restaurants and pubs within a 5-10 min walk. You can walk to Hyde park in 5 min and Kensington Palace in 15 min. Great location to two underground stations and a ton of bus stop options again all within a 5-10 min walk. Would recommend to book direct through their website as they give the best rates and we got a free upgrade for doing so as well. Safe area to walk at night as well never had any issues with that. The room we were upgraded to was big especially for European standards. Newly renovated and very clean. Housekeeping is provided on request which we did once during our week stay...however they missed replenishing toilet paper and sheets weren't changed...so maybe they could improve on that a bit. The soundproofing was horrendous and my only real complaint here. I could literally hear our neighbors brush their teeth, cough, have a normal convo etc. Not sure if this is in every room but in 502 it was terrible. Other than that I loved our stay here. Beds were super comfortable and the air conditioning...
