Otherwise, Longsight's market is an all-outdoor affair, with less "legitimate" stalls than Gorton Market, the next one over, and less enforcement of standards. I've bought seemingly brand new duvet covers here that have turned my skin blue even after being washed before use, electrical items that have turned out to die within the month, and fruit that has gone bad within 2 days despite looking delicious & fine on the stalls.
There are some decent stallholders here - mostly those selling secondhand furniture, jewellery, books & CDs - but one must definitely check the quality of an item before buying it, where any of the non-furniture/book sellers are concerned, as the quality cannot always be guaranteed. Read moreUsed to love this Market !!! ..sadly its going the same way of all the Markets ...same stalls not a lot of choice and on last visit stock was low and tired ...used to be guaranteed a bargain and something different on every visit ..now its no longer a stroll around to see the different stalls and wares, its simply straight to the stall you want ...get what you need... and leave...parking is atrocious here !!! with Traders paying no attention to priority or even disabled parking bays so if you are olanning a visit by car ..go as near 9 am as you can .as Traders usually set up by then and wont have completley taken over car park and surrounding areas !! So sad to see the demise of yet another traditional shopping...
