I have been using The Moxi as a work space during the day every few days. They do a lovely coffee, and sometimes it's even complimentary, which is always greatly appreciated when you are being productive. It's easy to get I to a good flow there with good WiFi, plenty of power points, great lighting, and a relaxed open setting.
I had a burger today, and it was also lovely. A bit massive , I couldn't finish it as I've been eating less recently. This was no reflection on how nice it was.
I will say that Martin St car park I previously mentioned has shut down now. But the car park behind is still cheaper than town, I think. It's not that big, though.
Beware of being caught out by the cameras in the carpark. They use ANPR and I got a fine. As usual, a faceless company in London. When you ring, the only options are " how would you like to pay." No chance of contesting or even discussing it.

I have stayed here a couple of times and very much enjoyed it. The rooms are really nice, comfortable, stylish and modern. It is good value staying during the week and the staff I have always been super friendly and helpful.
One of the things I enjoy is the downstairs reception area. They have a lovely bar and chill out area. So much so that just recently I have actually visited just to have a coffee and a drink with my mate here. The have free games and loads of comfy seating and outlets of you want to sit and chill with your laptop and work. It has loads of cool art work and is just a great space. You can even grab a bite to eat and an ice cream. I haven't sampled the food yet but I am sure I will at some point.
If you are visiting Plymouth and thinking of staying here, I would say do it for sure. Even if you are a bit more local and need to get away and can splash on a retreat for a night or two this is a great place to do it close to town, the Hoe and everything Plymouth...
Read moreI've racked up over 1,000 nights in hotel rooms. I've experienced backpackers and luxury, been ripped off and left pleasantly surprised. One thing I can say about the Moxy is that it's by far the best value for money one can get for a clean room that's been smartly designed for a light traveller that just cares about having a comfortable nights sleep and isn't really bothered by unnecessary hotel amenities that never get used. The minimalistic room has just the right space for two travelers sharing one large check-in bag and two carry-ons. Although there's no cupboard space, there's just the right number of hangers (4) to de-crease a few items of clothing. Expect premium Swissmade bathroom sanitary ware and an all round tastefully decorated room. With soundproof doors and blackout curtains, you're in for one of the best sleeps you can get away from home. The lobby is social workspace by day and play and mingle by night. A clever concept if you're travelling for work. The gym is 24/7 if you're really into fitness on the road. But with the sea just a stone throw away, it's much more enjoyable walking to the promenade if the weather permits. Unfortunately the Food and Beverage team still has a lot of work to do. The breakfast was cold, food items had run-out and just pretty much lacked flavour. At £15 for buffet breakfast, I would expect a hell of a lot more than what was on offer at the Moxy. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I'll definitely return in the future. Just won't be adding...
Read moreWe had a great 2-night stay! The location is convenient - just a short walk from the town centre, the seaside, and a large park, which was perfect for a relaxing stroll.
The atmosphere is modern yet cosy, with stylish communal areas that include a football table and games. There’s also a bar with a great selection of drinks and cocktails. We were welcomed with a complimentary Moxy cocktail on arrival, and it was nice that they offered a non-alcoholic version, too.
Check-in was smooth and quick, and all the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We got a room on the 4th floor overlooking the parking. The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed and a large smart TV. The bathroom was a bit small - especially around the toilet area - but the shower was decent, great water pressure, and the cosmetics provided were of good quality.
Room amenities included tea and coffee, and everything was very clean. The only downside was the limited storage space - no wardrobe, just a few hangers, a small table, and an armchair, which made it a bit tricky to organise our things. But overall, the room was comfortable, and we had a great sleep.
The buffet breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of hot and cold options and plenty of drinks to choose from.
Parking at the hotel is quite limited, but we found a convenient alternative just a 1-minute walk away at Brunel Way car park, which cost around £7 per day.
Overall, a fantastic stay with great service, and it is definitely good...
