Cassandra Guest House was a great value-for-money stay in centre of Plymouth. I was visiting for a mid-week for work, and really enjoyed my stay.||||Location was good, close to the main bus stop at the Royal Parade, close to the seaside and the Plymouth Hoe, and close to the Barbican for nice restaurants. I went for a swim in the sea two afternoons in a row after I was done at the office. I can also recommend the Tinside Lido for swimming. ||||The room was very small, but nicely done up and very clean and comfortable. I had access to balcony doors from my room which was great on the hot summer's nights as I was able to leave it open and bring in the fresh air.||||Breakfast was good. They offered me a full English each time, but also had a decent range of cereals, toast, and fruit. They catered well to guests with vegan or gluten-free dietary requirements as well.||||The service was professional and friendly. I arrived quite late on my first night, despite which the hostess cheerfully talked me through the practical details and showed me the main things I needed to know on a map (busses, restaurants, beach), making sure to take her time.||||Heads up: there are a lot of (noisy) seagulls in Plymouth, so if you want to have a solid night's sleep it might be a good idea to invest...
Read more£90 a night with breakfast that tasted of nothing, a lady came in the dining room and said you have 5 minutes left to finish breakfast, was like being in a school playground, coffee with breakfast was shocking, breakfast was 1 sausage 1 egg 1 hash brown a few mushrooms and a spoonful of beans, toast was barely done, poor choice of cereal and very little else, deluxe room was a joke, mattress was terrible, very little room to hang clothes, nice walk in shower room, how this was deluxe is beyond me, my girlfriend even found 2 fleas on the bed, bed wasn’t good at all, the stay should’ve been nearer £60 a night not £90, lovely people but won’t be going back, we have stayed in Plymouth before and had better room and stay for...
Read moreGreat little B&B in central Plymouth. Jeff the owner is lovely and very hospitable. I arrived late at night and opening up to let me in and show me around was no problem. I had the most comfortable bed and the best sleep. Mattress was lovely, as were the pillows, white cotton sheets and duvet. Beds are a matter of personal choice, but this ticked all my boxes. The guesthouse is off the main street, so there is no passing traffic. Breakfast the next day was awesome - full english plus a good selection of cereals, fruit, yogurts and non-dairy milk. Proper coffee, which was refilled on request. The common areas and the bedroom were absolutely spotless. Will...
