I honestly find it hard to write some of these reviews, but also believe feedback, if given in the right way is helpful and it's also only fair for others to know what things are really like. So here goes..... The lady who greeted us, presumably her house, was just lovely. Very welcoming and really friendly. It would have been nice to discuss the contents of this review with her but on reading other reviews and knowing the hostility they faced, I didn't much fancy it, especially because it was 'meant' to be a special weekend with my daughter. As above, greeting on check in and check out was really pleasant. The room however, if I'd of had the choice or the money, or been able to get my money back, I would have left. I don't often feel that way, I'm pretty easy pleased, but the pictures advertised do not represent this place. In fact it was filthy. Please see pictures!! One of the cups and saucers in the room was dirty, there were brown splashes on the wall around the toilet paper, there was brown 'stuff' under the toilet seat, loads of dust on lampshade, dust all over toilet roll holder, shower screen is filthy, wall paper coming off, and when I saw the plug hole whilst brushing my teeth, it made me urge!!!! I'm sorry, but it shouldn't be allowed to be let out for people to stay in, in that state. I can cope with tired and needs some TLC but this was bad. Your location is great! But for £10 more we could have stayed at the Duke of Cornwall. Boy, I wish we did!!!! Please have a deep clean. Not good at all.

This hotel is like 15 to 20 min walk from town. The hotel itself was easy to find and looks decent. When walking in the decor was a little out dated but still looked presentable. The staff member that greeted me was lovely and pleasant to talk to. We have a twin room for 2 people with an ensuite. I don't think this place is wheelchair friendly. i had to walk up 4 or 5 flights of stairs to get to my room.(no elevator) upon entering room it was a decent size with 2 single bed and a very small ensuite with shower. Considering there was 2 of use we had 1 hand towel and a small bath towel to share.... the bedding and decor in room was out dated. The window opened upwards and opened all the way. Witch I thought was rather dangerous 🤔 considering we were high up. And the ensuite could have been a bit cleaner... hair in sink and spots of mold on ceiling. Oh and the water pressure was low. I had a dribble of a shower. And the bed side lamp didnt work. Also no freebies (take ur own shampoo etc) But overall worth it considering the price. You get what you pay for.

Although the host was pleasant and welcomed us … the hotel is totally in a shambles , our rooms bed was held together by parcel tape and there were no sockets next to bed only one double near the sink next tithe window Shelves were falling off the walls , decor was tired and paper cracked and hanging off the walls , the shower head was filthy and rusty and there were only enough tea bags fir one cup each Felt grotty and I had another trip booked here iv now cancelled it such a shame really , The signs says hotel is under improvements but the mats no excuse for the poor condition and state of our room and general areas . The framed pictures up the bathroom had melted n buckled out of their frames with the heat in the bathroom just left there to rot Nice building too very neglected The wi fi was confusing too so used my own . Although it was unacceptable Expedia refused me a refund and offered me £25 credit …. Fuming

Just say NOPE! the worst place I ever stayed while travelling alone in any country ! READ THE REVIEWS they are mostly all terrible and for good reason ! ||The owner is dishonest and will charge you and double charge you , she even hacked my account to rebook my room after a fall down the steps from this run down caused me to go to the trauma ward and i had to stay with a friend. The rooms are numbered to decieve you as to what floor you are staying on and there is no lift so its quite dangerous to traverse the stairs, i could have died laying at the bottom of the stairs unconscious and then trying to get someone attention at the desk for 9 hours! Because once the have your money thats only time they will come to the bell , there is actually a toilet OUTSIDE THE BATHROOM for shared use MOST IMPORTANTLY .. ||.She did some funny business with my travel account and rebooking my room and using my credit card and got paid for five full days instead of the one night cancelation fee , shes a liar and a thief ||just look how many people have been " robbed " in their locked rooms and how many people hated the tiny dirty rooms full of broken needles ! She wouldnt know the truth if it was a snake and came up and bit her and has zero concern for the guests or their welfare ,once shes got your money you will never see her again. In addition to the criminal matter of her using my private account to make sure i was not given a refund because was injured in her place so badly i had to be somewhere i could be watched 24/ 7 was absolutely outrageous and is being taken up by local authorities and my bank in the usa. She was absolutely horrible about it , the little blonde one . My friend said the other one was much nicer when she went to get my things but they had left my room unlocked all night , things were missing from my room and she didnt even check who it was picking up all my things. STAY AWAY...
