I had a very disappointing experience at Zina Grocery Shop on Infirmary Road. This was my first visit since arriving in the UK, and unfortunately, it left a sour impression. The lady staff member at the counter was extremely rude and displayed a shocking lack of professionalism.
When I approached her for assistance, she was unhelpful, dismissive, and her tone was downright disrespectful. It was evident that she had no intention of addressing my concerns or providing any form of customer service. Instead of creating a welcoming environment, her attitude made me feel unwelcome and frustrated.
A business relies heavily on courteous and supportive staff, and this encounter was the complete opposite. I hope the management takes feedback like this seriously and addresses such behavior to ensure that other customers don't face similar experiences. Until then, I will think twice before visiting this shop again.
Dear Shop Owner,
Thank you for your response. My intention was to provide honest feedback about that incident, not to criticize your shop as a whole. I appreciate the good service I have received from your other staff members and have had positive experiences after the incident. However, my feedback was solely about that particular interaction, which I felt did not meet the standard of service I had otherwise experienced at your establishment. I also want to clarify that I have no personal grudge against the staff member in question. However, her behavior was quite rude, and I believe some training on customer service, politeness, and empathy would be beneficial. Every customer interaction shapes a business’s reputation, and a more courteous approach would certainly enhance the overall experience at your shop. That said, I do not wish to dwell on this matter any further. I hope my feedback is taken constructively, and I look forward to continuing to have positive experiences...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at Zina Market. While the store is convenient and the two male staff members, whom I often see, are always well mannered, professional, and helpful, there is a lady working there who was incredibly rude during my visit.
I asked her for a different brand of an item I was looking for, and instead of helping or checking, she rudely told me, "If there’s only one item, then that’s the one we have." It's not about the response, it's about her rude behaviour. She didn’t make any effort to assist me or even pretend to care. Her tone and behavior were unprofessional and gave the impression that she has no interest in customer service. Her unprofessional behavior was shocking and made me feel unwelcome. Her tone and behavior gave off an air of arrogance, as if she considers herself the "main character" of the store, So I decided not to make a purchase and went to another store instead even though it's a little far from there.
It’s unfortunate because the rest of the staff is so friendly and creates a positive atmosphere. However, this one staff member’s attitude reflects poorly on the store and her attitude suggests she thinks she’s all in one and indispensable, which is not the kind of energy a customer wants to deal with. She definitely needs to learn to manage customers and some good behaviour without any ego. I hope the management addresses this issue (If she's not the "management" or otherwise the owner of the store) to improve the overall customer experience. . To Zina market Take this as a constructive criticism and please take necessary action instead of justifying your side. I saw some Justifications in the review so... Justifications won't help you other than covering up the...
Read moreI have been to this store many times during the past one year and never had any issues until now. Today when I went to the store, there was a lady staff. I was picking up my batter and the ones in front shows that it expires tomorrow. This batter if it's near to its expired date tend to taste bitter and it's not good for people with acidic and gastric issues as its been fermented long. Therefore I picked up one from behind the counter which showed it much later dates. Upon reaching the till, this lady said that it cannot be sold until the ones in front is not sold out yet. I told her it's not going to be good. She said no and that she cant sell the new ones to me. Why on earth would I knowingly buy an almost expired product when there is fresh batch available? Why display the new ones if you are not selling them? So rude and disgusting behaviour and unreasonable rules.
[Edited after the owner replied] I don't know how they ended up to a conclusion that I was requesting for a fresh batter for the price for the older ones stocked up front. It was never the case to begin with. I never was informed of the prices of the older ones or the new ones and was straight away told that they weren't going to sell the fresh batch until the older ones are gone when I took it to the counter to clear the older stock. It is really rude and unprofessional to bring up a false statement to justify your wrongdoings. If you did something wrong, admit it and apologise , instead of writing creative scenarios, making the customer look like they...
