I used to stay here rather frequently a few yrs back and it used to be decent. My bf and I just stayed the other night though and NEVER AGAIN. We were asked to pay a $20 cash deposit that was not mentioned anywhere before making the trip. The room reaked to high heaven of mold and mildew. Only one lamp, and the shade was shredded to pieces. Graffiti in and around the bathroom, burn holes in the blankets, and the next morning discovered the fridge didn't actually work, all our food had defrosted and gone bad. We ended up getting out of the room 15 min late because of the food situation. But we left with no complaints because we were just looking for a cheap night out with a jacuzzi and realise you get what you pay for.... we weren't looking to start any problems. Got about 3 blocks away before realising we didn't get our cash deposit back. So we go back and the manager refused my bf the deposit because we were 15 min late leaving the room. So I went in and tried to reason with him, explained about the horrible mildew smell, and the fact all our food went bad. Even brought the bag of food in with me. Still refused to return our deposit. Then because my bf dropped the f bomb out of frustration, he CALLED THE COPS . We spoke to the officers that came out and they were really nice about the whole thing. Said they are there ALL THE TIME! Unfortunately it's a civil matter and they were unable to make him refund our deposit. So our cheap night out ended up costing us $70.....Oh and Mr. mananger before dropping another ignorant comment like I saw on the last review that commented about your $20 deposit, we have stayed at several motels in the last several months. All different price ranges, as we go where we can afford at the time. Not a single other motel has asked us for a cash deposit, and not a single one was even close to being as disgustingly grimy as yours. We will be placing a complaint thru Hotels.com as well, and I am also informing the better business bureau and the health department as I stated before leaving your office. EDIT:RESPONSE TO OWNER: Thank you for responding so quickly. Yes it may be normal practice for some HIGH-END establishments to ask for a deposit. It is also normal practice to have that deposit RETURNED upon checkout. Thank you also for not having so much as an apology or comment about the appalling disgusting condition of your roach motel. The fact that you think your establishment would even equate to the type of place that would ask for a deposit is beyond laughable. You are running a scam. You say nothing about the deposit until arrival, than refuse to return it...
Read moreMicrowave burn marks inside with layer of grim so thick it comes off like a thin layer of molasses, cigarette ashes in the drawers it was supposed to be a non smoking room. Pungent Marijuana like smell coming from the bathroom vent, chairs are coming unglued and are torn, cigarette burns in the covers, Tv is damaged and static overwhelms the audio at times, the phone in the room is disconnected, damaged, dirty and does not work and is disconnected from wall, floor lamp broken and only standing up becuase it leans agains the wall, furniture held together with what appears to be dry wall screws, mini fridge missing grates, walls have black marks and scuffs, paint is dirty and unclean holes covered up with spackle, not painted over, carpet torn and coming up at the doorway to the room cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, advertises laundry room but it is not operational, wood work with all broken, ice machine looks terrible. The policies for the hotel include but not limited to the following (keep in mind this is not verbatim): Do not bring excessive amount of bagage into room Any Vehicles on the property must belong to guest and be registered or else will be towed away No visitors allowed and will be considered trespassers 35$ early check out fee is charged if you want to extend your stay but not want to take out all of your stuff from the room and put it back in Verbally told that there is $40 deposit is paid when checking in not part of the deal on the travel website i used to book it Verbally told that there is a no electronics policy. Cant bring in xbox or own tv's hot plates, toaster etc. Must check out before 11am no matter what.
The man at the desk is the most unhospitable demeanor, very short and matter of fact when he speaks to people. In my personal opinion unfriendly, unwelcoming personality, dont bother coming here if you want to be treated with dignity and basic human decency.

Read moreThe super Lodge in absecon New Jersey is the second worst motel I have ever stayed in. Upon arrival the hotel manager demanded a $40 cash down payment refundable upon checkout, which was not mentioned on the booking website I used to book the room. The hotel manager became rude and confrontational when I addressed that I had not been notified of any such down payment and that I was uncomfortable making it down payment in cash; the hotel manager went on to tell me that I didn't do enough research and it wasn't his or the hotel's responsibility to verify information on booking websites. I contacted my booking website about my grievances and the booking website said there was nothing they could do about the down payment because they didn't know about it. Ultimately I went to an ATM and returned with the $40 and was provided a room key. The room was unfit for human habitation! The door frame was ripped off the wall, someone had kicked the hole in the bathroom door, all the walls were stained and discolored, there was active water damage on the ceiling and some of the ceiling was collapsing, the lights switches were broken and protruded from the walls and strange ways, all the lamp shades were soiled and torn, the comforters had cigarette holes and other burn marks, the shower curtain rod was ripped out of the wall, toilet seat was soiled, there were holes in the walls, the drapes were sheer and were soiled with something unidentifiable, the carpet was soiled and sticky, the bathroom floor was sticky, the inside of all the drawers were dirty and had burn marks, the receptacle on one of the walls was damaged and spackled over, the chairs were soiled and smelled of urine, and there was evidence of drug use in the parking lot. I did not feel comfortable spending the night, and ultimately had my booking website relocate me. But the hotel clerk did return my $40 in cash, but it took five telephone calls from my booking website to relocate my reservations and ensure my money was return.
