Where do I begin?
The outside looks nice but don’t let it fool you. The hallways, elevator and rooms are absolutely filthy. The first floor hallway smells like a sewer. They said that the remodel would be done on the 30th of September. What remodel? This place is beyond rundown. There are stains all over the carpets from the hallways to the rooms. It’s so disgusting. I refused to take my shoes off in the room. We travel for work (hurricanes and other weather related events) and have stayed in some questionable places but this is by far the worst place we have ever stayed.
Bed bugs, cockroaches and fleas. My puppy also contracted worms while we were here and had to take her to the vet.
Some of the housekeeping staff (although pleasant to your face) would yell and throw fits in the hallways while cleaning rooms. One particular day they were dropping F bombs so loud I could hear it over my tv.
There is at least one squirrel living in the walls of the building.
The pool is not open and upon arrival was green and had frogs living in it. Actually, kind of cute but yuck!
There are very little room phones and if you are lucky enough to have one in your room, it won’t be usable. There are random cords that are broken off or no cords at all so if you need something be prepared to go hunt it down and HOPE they have it. Also, don’t expect a wake up call. You’ll need to have your own alarm.
The front desk doesn’t take cash for hotel market purchases.
The staff is always on their phones talking on speakerphone to their friends or have earbuds in so you can’t talk to them.
When we asked for new linens we were given linens that had obvious pee stains and other questionable stains on them. Since we are dog friendly we let it go because they smelled clean but come on.
The drawer would not shut and they said that they’d have someone come fix it but that never happened so the 2 weeks we were there we had to just move around it.
The beds are not comfortable at all. The price is high (over $150/night) for how horrible this place is. I expected so much more from a La Quinta.
The shower curtain doesn’t close completely. There is a 8” gap on either side. The rod itself moves back and forth because it wasn’t hung properly.
The deadbolt will randomly lock you out of your room. When I asked to be let in by housekeeping she said we could change rooms if we wanted because that just happens.
Staff coming to work in the morning 6-7 am would come speeding in with their music blaring so loud. Extremely unprofessional staff that work here.
The hot water is on its own time. I ended up taking a cold shower and by the end of it the water got hot and started screaming this loud whistling pipe noise.
DO NOT BELIEVE ANY REVIEW THAT SAYS THIS PLACE IS CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE! THEY ARE LYING TO YOU!
I could keep going but I’ll move on.
The plus:
Washing and drying your clothes is cheap! $1.50 to wash and $1.00 to dry. This is the lowest price we have ever seen in a hotel/motel. The laundry room is dirty though. Someone needs to thoroughly clean the machines.
Wendolyn. She is the best manager we have ever had the pleasure of meeting in our travels. She’s funny, kind and does everything she can to make sure our needs are met. She lets us know when a package has arrived unlike any other person there. She deserves a raise because she has to be the glue holding this place together. You better not lose her as an employee because she is gold!
The 24 hour coffee is actually really good. I don’t know how the machine works but it’s not like the tall round ones at your usual hotel that get cold and stay old. This was always fresh which I appreciated because I didn’t have to unpack my...
Read moreCouldt pay me to stay here again Honestly top five worst hotels I have stayed in in my life, and I have stayed in a lot of places. I was there 17 days, during that time there was no variety what so ever in what the served for breakfast. Day two at 5:40AM the smoke detectors in more started going off repeatedly, I called the front desk and the receptionist came up and snatched the smoke eetors out if the ceiling. I ended up not having smoke detectors for 5 days although I stopped by the front desk on my way to work each day and on my way in from work. No matter who I told at the desk they responded as if it were a surprise to them and acted as if there was nothing they could do although at least two people i told twice....
About a week into my stay, I came in from work and my towel rack was hanging over the toilet and and my fresh towels were sitting on the sink. I assume when housekeeping put my new towels up there it broke and they left it there (I have pictures) it was left this way for two days. The shower curtain bolts were loose so the curtain would not stay closed on either end so my showers were always breezy. Several times my keys didnt work had go have new keys made. My co-worker across the hall got locked out of his room for hours because the batteries in his card reader died. After that was fixed the inside handle of his room door fell off, I'm almost certain it was never fixed. Pool didnt work, hot tub didnt work. Heating unit in room had two working temperatures extremely hot and freezing cold. I never received anything about my Wyndham rewards that I signed up for but yet I received an email survey addressing me by the wrong name (no idea who trey is, probably an employee who took my points) if it were not for working 13 hour days for the 17 days I was there and the room being paid for by my employer I would have switched hotels. This survey comment is also going to Google. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Housekeeping did a poor job at best with cleaning the room, they dont change the sheets when they are supposed to, some days the restock your tea and coffee some days they don't when they do you may not get cups or spoons. Some days my toilet wasnt clean, this place is ridiculously bad and dirty. Really surprised Wyndham put...
Read moreI chose this location due to the passing of my mother. The room didn't get cleaned out once. Even when I discussed this at check-in. If you see the pictures I posted, there was an assortment of issues from the 1st floor sideboard key entry disabled and partially apart either to vandalism or neglect by maintenance. From the light fixture in the bath (MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE), the cut out above the bathroom mirror, the sink having rust, paint on the shower curtain rod, sink counter looked like it wasn't wiped properly (luckily I keep Lysol wipes in my car), and what appears to be the smoke detector (In their defense [to a very tiny degree] I didn't look to see if one was indeed install and maintenance for whatever reason hasn't removed this from the ceiling). The emergency instructions you would assume is straight forward except they were for the 2nd floor and my room was on the 3rd floor! I didn't like the carpet; it wasn't the best looking on the 3rd floor and the subfloor about 35 feet from the elevator "NEEDS ATTENTION ASAP" before someone is filing a law suit when they fall through the floor. Overall on the carpet it was "not pleasing" to the eye throughout the hotel. The ice machine wasn't working on the 3rd floor had to go down to the first floor if I needed ice. And before I forget, there was no phone in the room. Thank goodness we live in a society where everyone has a cell phone so I could at least call 911 if it came down to it but if I had to call the front desk, I would have had to "Google" the damn hotel to get the front desk number! SMDH.
Of course, I informed management that allow this was very disappointing and that I only chose this location rather than my usual spot due to them having a better price. If only I could go back in time and just paid what amounted to an extra 14 dollars a day.
Do not stay here as the location is a slight step from the hotel/motels slums. I regret greatly staying here, and I doubt I will stay at a La Quinta Hotel again in my lifetime if I...
