I don't live in Albany. Usually on in town once every month or so. Last 3 times I've been in town & wanted to eat we couldn't because they weren't open. Somewhere between 4-6 months ago I drove up to eat & there was a sign on the door saying it was closed until further notice. My next trip here I rode by & saw they were open, but had already eaten that day so I made a mental note to stop the next time I was in town. Me & my mom took my grandma out to do her monthly shopping & stopped by to eat. A server brought some food out to customers sitting on the sidewalk as we drove up. My grandmother is 88 years old so it takes a minute to get her going . We walk in & the server that was just outside tells us they're closed even though the sign still said open. You couldn't have told us that while we were outside & before we got a nearly 90 year old woman out of the car & helped inside? Really? Thursday July 8th rolled around & it was time for my grandmother's monthly shopping again & we drove to Albany with the intention of eating here & going to Sam's Club. We drive up a little batter 2 PM & there's another sign on the door saying they closed down for the week of July 4th. I don't know how this place stays in business. I've been in the service industry for over 20 years & never seen another restaurant that closes as much as this place does. It wouldn't bother me not going there, but it's my grandmother's favorite place to eat & she hasn't had it since before Corona shut everything down...
Read moreIn the heart of the city, Guang Zhou offers a blend of Chinese flavors amidst a tranquil setting. However, the experience here is a tale of contrasts, where culinary delights meet service hiccups.
Upon arrival, the ambiance exudes simplicity, inviting patrons to indulge in traditional Chinese fare. Opting for the chicken curry, one is met with disappointment as the dish oddly mirrors the seasoning profile of a typical ramen noodle packet, lacking the depth and complexity expected from authentic Chinese cuisine.
Yet, amidst this culinary letdown, the pickled veggies emerge as the unexpected hero, providing a refreshing and tangy contrast to the lackluster main course. Regrettably, the fried rice fails to impress, arriving at the table cold, dampening expectations further.
While the waitress displays warmth and attentiveness, her solitary presence hints at an understaffed establishment. The sight of another staff member wandering aimlessly adds to the sense of disarray, leaving diners yearning for a more cohesive dining experience.
In summary, Guang Zhou presents a mixed bag of flavors and service. While some dishes, like the pickled veggies, shine with promise, others fall short of delivering the authentic Chinese culinary experience. With improvements in both kitchen execution and service efficiency, Guang Zhou has the potential to elevate its standing among discerning diners seeking an authentic...
Read moreI went to this place on today 10/22/2021 and had been patronizing for years. I was treated rude by a manager name Alexis and was given wrong food. When I mentioned this I was told that some lemon pepper seasoning would be brought out for the wings instead of them being cooked in the seasoning. Also, no flat wings could be ordered and i've always ordered flat lemon pepper wings in the past. Moreover, the won ton soup was not even luke warm and the rice that I ordered (shrimp and rice) was just simple rice with soy sauce. I was so disappointed and treated inhumane by being told I had to pay for this awful lunch or else!!! The manager, Alexis, kept peaking behind a corner with an evil smirk on her face. She claimed to have been one of three other managers. The table was wet when I arrived and the menu was placed on top of the water! There was no professionalism from anyone who worked there and i've never seen anything like this in my life! The owner normally comes in after 4pm and she is allowing these employed peasants to ruin her business. Now I truly understand why only two people besides my party were there. The health department needs to closely examine this establishment immediately and...
