Worst Experience Ever – Left Hungry, Disrespected, and $200 poorer”
My family and I are long-time residents and have multiple businesses and We know multiple other big player owners in the Albany area, and we always make it a point to support local establishments. We gave this place a try with good intentions — but unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst decisions we’ve made in a long time.
We spent over $200- 234$ something. Waited for more than an hour, and ultimately left without receiving a single plate of food or a refund. What made it even more frustrating was watching other customers being served ahead of us, even though we arrived and ordered long before them.
Honestly, the way we were treated felt completely dismissive — borderline discriminatory. It’s hard not to feel like we were judged or deprioritized for reasons we shouldn’t have to name. By 10 PM, we ended up going home hungry and cooking for ourselves — after supporting what we thought was a local business.
If you don’t “look” a certain way, do yourself a favor and avoid this place altogether. We walked in ready to support, and walked out disrespected, disappointed, and robbed.
I left them paying the money cause after 1 he plus if your food is not ready and other who came after you are. Then I just paid the bill for the food we ordered but never received. Walked out with my family.
Absolutely Horrible...
Read moreWe ordered the pick six board as an appetizer and while some specific items were wonderful, the board was very sparse. If that's the standard house portion, maybe serve it on a smaller board. We also ordered the ribeye cooked medium and it came out rare. Tiramisu was really good though. I don't know.. For a $200 bill for 2 people, I guess I expected more.
Edit after business response
So your general manager is also your chef? Only one person besides the waitress visited our table. While you may find it comfortable to complain about portion size and returning food while inside of a restaurant, I do not. And if we were remembered so well, why did both steaks ordered get packaged up to be taken home and not eaten? Furthermore, I am no beginner to charcuterie or the 'etiquette' that goes with it. So for you to assume that simply because I wasn't satisfied with my dinner, that I was out to hurt your business, is unwarranted and atrocious. In MY honest opinion, the board portions are small and meat thermometers are needed. Listen to your customer base and try to do better. Certainly not what you just did because looking through the reviews, I'm not the first with an opinion on your board...
Read moreWe visited Corks on the off chance it was open early (we came in from an out of town trip on a Saturday around 4:30 pm and were hungry) Yes, to our delight, it was open and this was our first visit. It was just before Christmas, and walking in the door, we were in awe. It was BEAUTIFUL! Seated right away, and served immediately. We did not have reservations, but would encourage a group of more than 4 to make reservations. The waitress was not only courteous and polite, she was well informed on the dishes being g served and the wine list as well. AND IT WAS HER FIRST DAY! Props to the owner who apparently takes training to a new level. The food was next level amazing. Presentation, well I will say i was drooling at the tables next me watching their food come out. The time for our food was a little longer than expected, about 30 minutes, but we got there at 4:15 (they opened at 4) and there were ppl ahead of us. So a good time to go without reservations is probably around 5:30/6. The experience was so amazing that my husband has actually taken our daughters back there for a "Daddy Daughter Desert Day" and boy did they love that! You just HAVE to go here. Take your daughters for desert if...
