This lil motel may just be perfect for you...if you:
(1) are too drunk to see it clearly or possibly just too drunk to successfully drive you car even half a block down to the Econoloade... OR if you
(2) have a kink for being turned upside down and shaken like a coinpurse, so the management can squeeze a paltry few more dollars and change out of guests who, no matter how good a deal they got, have paid far too much for a place like this.
As many others have said, the first thing a guest is told upon arrival is that "we will need a hundred dollar cash deposit, no exceptions!" Well hello right back to you, Mr. Front Desk Friendly. And as my eyes scan the lobby for an ATM, realize Front Desk Friendly is watching me, waiting for me to ask, "Where's the ATM?"
"Oh you can go to any one you want, sir, but we cannot check you in without a cash..." Yes, I understand. I'm asking where would you go if you were in my position? Oh the gas station at the end of the block. Sure.
Upon returning with my deposit, I got to listen to another check-in group moving through the exact same process, nearly identical dialogue, everything. I piped up, "There an ATM at the end of the block, gas station, the withdrawl fee is $2.75." As they hustled to the ATM, I resumed checkin.
Since I had paid for the room via 3rd party website, and since my deposit would be in cash, I never offered my credit card, but the desk agent did not like that. I said, "Deposit is in cash, room is paid...why do you need my card?" Instead of answering, the fellow just pointed four times at a typed page taped to the inside of the plexiglass partition he worked behind This sign faced the customers and detailed a $6.95 per day charge that paid for room service and cleaning "even if you do not request service during your stay." I noticed this was one of maybe 6 or 7 signs, all giving arcane little facts about additional charges, potential infractions that could lead to fees, etc. Strangely, there was no sign letting people kmow about tyhe hundred dollar cash deposit.
"You credit card, sir?" He was impatient and seemed irritated with me. But I just puilled oiut another $20 I'd gotten from that ATM, a little extra cash. "Take it out of this. I don't see any reason to put that on my card, do you?" He said nothing and gave me my change slowly. It was very awkward. After that, I was about to get my room key, when the agent looked hard at the computer screen, and then loooked back at me, said, "YOU do not need a handicap room, do you?"
"I don't need one. But as you can see, I did pay extra for one. I generally get them because I know in hotels with rooms facing parking lots, it's better to be on the ground floor and disability accessible rooms are always on the ground floor."
Again, long awkward silence, then: "breakfast is included. thank you for your business."
"Before I go, can I get a copy of the 100 dollar deposit policy? Or even just a receipt showing that handed over that cash? And when do I get it back? At checkout? Does someone go look over my room and then release my money?"
"Sir you will receive a copy of the receipt for your deposit tomorrow after we determine you have not damaged the rooms."
"It's one of the documents I just signed, right? How about I just take a picture of it?"
He let me do that, grudgingly. I also would learn the wifi password printed by someone who works here was actually incorrect. It featured an obvious capitalized letter and only by multiple trial and error did I finally get a version of the password to work that was all lower case.
So...that was my horrific checkin. Does anyone want to hear all the details about my filthy, thriftstore-looking room? Oh, you don't? Well, maybe...
Read moreThis hotel is absolutely horrible, I highly suggest against it. The pictures they have posted absolutely do not match whst the rooms actually look like. For starters when I checked in the darker complexion gentleman that works in the afternoons is extremely rude and disrespectful and not helpful what so ever and seems to have an issue with yelling at customers. The hotel website and even their listing on booking states that they offer a " Continental breakfast" they most definitely do not all that is offered is waffles and cereal with plain oatmeal and coffee. There is only one ice machine on property and it does not work and seems like it hasn't for a while. The soda vending machine in the lobby is broken. When I walked into the room the floor was still dirty it looked as if it hadn't been vacuumed. The bathroom floor was filthy I walked in there to get in the shower and it turned my feet black instantly and there was an old soap wrapper in the corner. The mirrors look as if they've never been cleaned. The sink was clogged and took forever to drain. The bathroom door was falling off the tracks and wouldn't go back on and you could hardly open and close it. There was a stain on the comforter. There was a plastic bag wrapped around the smoke alarm so I can only imagine the things that occurred in that room and very clear it most likely wasn't properly cleaned by housekeeping judging by the bag still on the smoke alarm. There was a half melted popsicle left in the freezer/fridge area. The TV hardly worked when there was signal it was stuck on one channel you couldn't change it but most the of the time it would show a no signal warning. The top latch on the inside of the door that's supposed to provide you with extra safety was broken and not even bolted into the door. I was here for two nights not once did housekeeping come by to take trash or refresh towels I took out my own trash and when I asked the front desk for towels I was told I had to collect up my dirty towels and take them to laundry myself and request new ones. Also there's a phone in the room missing most of the buttons on the phone and its wired into the wall but doesn't work. There's also several shipping containers taking over a large amount of parking space in the parking lot and also blocks some of the camera views I had an issue with a homeless lady this morning as I was checking out of my room but they weren't able to view the situation on the cameras due to the shipping containers blocking the cameras view. Also there's no towels at the pool so if you go you need to take some. And beware there were cockroaches everywhere at the pool. However the lady that worked this morning when I checked out was absolutely amazing and understanding and for that I appreciate her. And once you can get past the negatives the pool and hottub itself are clean and it was fun for me and my family. And the...
Read moreThis was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Before arriving I called the hotel as it showed a smoking room and I asked if that could be changed and they told me yes. When I arrived, I asked for a non-smoking and first-floor room if possible as I have kids and have a bunch of stuff as we're here for a soccer tournament. The hotel night clerk was very rude and was not helpful at all he did not explain anything the only thing he said was a $100 cash deposit and that was it when checking in. When we arrived at the first room, it smelled awful The room smelled worse than an ashtray combined with a heavy odor. There were stains all over the beds and furniture plus, what looked to be blood on the bed and holes in the bedding and the wall. I explained the situation and the night young man again WAS VERY RUDE but at least offered a different room. So we loaded all of our stuff back up, went back downstairs, and to the back side of the hotel to the 2nd room which again was upstairs. we unloaded everything again and hauled it upstairs as I was dumb and didn't check it first. we walked in and the bedding was stained the smoke detector was taken apart hanging off the wall with no batteries. There were holes in the wall and the Heater didn't work, it's winter. The furniture was badly chipped. I went back down and told the guy that the heater didn't work. He told me Oh it takes a while for it to turn on and made us wait. It still did not turn on after 15 minutes. Went back down there and told him. He said that's strange. Allegedly, I tried to get a refund and said im a female here with my 2 kids for soccer this is a pretty crappy hotel. He said I can't get a refund just a new room. And so I said if the 3rd room wasn't good I would DEMAND A REFUND TO GO ELSEWHERE. He said ok. So to the 3rd room, I went by myself to look it over first. It was in ok shape and looked so much better than the first 2 rooms thank goodness. My kids didn't want to stay here but the guy said no refund was allowed but this room was ok. I will NEVER BE BACK TO THIS HOTEL AS IT WAS JOKE AND NOT WORTH THE 80ISH LITTLE ALONE $30 FOR A NIGHT. Honestly, if I could give a negative star I would. I dearly wish I had known how horrible it was. I am not a picky person and I don't mind things run down some but this was unhygienic and disgusting đ I will not be back. Plus the breakfast was nothing like I was told. Now the older man on the morning shift was very nice and helpful.
The picture of the hotel is misleading too. This hotel is pretty run down. The smoke detectors were hanging from the wall with no batteries and probably didn't work I only took pictures of the bed. This hotel should be shut down and not running under the...
