Out of towners that find an escape room wherever we can. Of all escape rooms across our travels, we have never walked out of one. The reason for 3 stars, we did a room the night before and were so excited to book and do another, possibly two more rooms before we headed out of town. The first one was bomb. Totally non linear and held my attention the whole time. Next day we were excited for another, first 15 mins was exciting. Very intricate puzzles, definitely was excited for the room. The next 15 minutes is where I reached “uncomfortable” started to loose focus and honestly really didn’t want to be in that room anymore. It was hot. I’m not talking warm but hot! I was in a tank top and jeans and I was sweating and felt like the heat was on. So the last half of the room I had no care for, I really just wanted to leave and we did. I don’t know how much time we had left but I was having ZERO fun and purposely paid money to be inside, out of the heat. If I wanted to be sweaty and frustrated I would have went for a walk on the interstate. As I walked out we were offered a portable ac for the room because their “air conditioners are down and they are waiting for parts to come in.” That should have been told to us before even entering the room and the portable ac offered then as well. What was the thought process of taking our money knowing there was no air conditioning and not telling us, not offering us a solution until we physically walked out and ending it with a shoulder shrug and “sorry bout that guys”. Not cool New Mexico escape...
Read moreEXCELLENT experience/'bang for your buck'. SUPERB hostess. We were first timers and they.are.on.point re. watching out for you - we chose one of their scariest scenarios ("The Cabin 2.0") - and talk about realistic/immersive (!) -- Really scary for me but not for the other two in our party. (Again, they really made sure each of us had a great, safe experience). I think folks that have escape room experience might fare 'better' than us in figuring things out (tho the teenager did rock it pretty impressively) - so we did rely on the "hint" communication box regularly, which integrated great for us/didn't take us out of the experience. I'm very appreciative of the help we received along the way - I can only imagine what the experience is like for experienced escape room goers who don't need the help & hints - I'm guessing the hour for them is even more immersive/scary! - I personally became totally immersed for moments - the level of artistry/thought/design in/of the rooms was just amazing to me. - I know I don't have other escape rooms to compare with, however I was really, really floored by the experience and I was honestly freaked out scared at...
Read moreHo-ly hell...how have we never done this before? My wife said she wanted to do an escape room for her birthday, so her friend looked up all the ones in Albuquerque and we chose Nefartaris tomb here at the McLeod location, due to my wife loving ancient egypt. It was only after we decided on it that we found out that it's pretty much the most difficult one that they offer, and we have never done an escape room before. But we decided to go and try it out, which was absolutely incredible. Ian was our game master and he was so caring and patient to these three idiots who, mind you, brought an 11 month old baby with them. We were able to make it through quite a few puzzles, though we did need a good bit of help. Again, that was our fault for not choosing an easier one, not any fault of the company. The atmosphere was great, and they made a wonderful sense of urgency that had us running around like crazy people. I was absolutely pumped afterwards. I decided that this needs to be something we do one a regular basis. I cant wait to try out more rooms, and hopefully, we can beat them this time. Oh, by the way, if you try the tomb, be ready. It's a...
