Let's start with the good stuff. I AM SO GLAD OUR ROOM DIDN'T HAVE ROACHES. I am so scared of roaches, I'm just thrilled we didn't see any. Bed bugs? Not sure, neither my daughter nor I got bitten...so yay, no bed bugs either. I think. We did have plenty of flies. I'm not sure how flies get into an interior room without a functioning window to the outside, but we had enough flies to consider them roommates. I really don't like the feeling of flies landing on my skin at all times, but if the flies were the worst thing, we'd be okay. |||| I didn't realize that so many people actually LIVED HERE I thought it was more of a Motel 6 sorta thing... My kiddo and I needed a cheap place to crash before we got on a plane to Los Angeles. We spent plenty of money on vacation and getting out of dodge without spending a lot more was the plan. The people who live here weren't the problem at all, but well...they live in a motel, It's um...people who NEED to live in a hotel. They were nice and lovely, but it's not a vacation vibe... it's a recovering from drug addiction, running from an abusive relationship, just got out of jail and need a place to crash kinda vibe...and I'm good with it :) for real, everyone who lives here was nice...and they actually helped us.||||So, why ONE STAR (or no stars, it's just that's not an option)? Okay. My kiddo who is BLACK and thirteen has severe special needs...but she looks like an adult, crazy genetics...but it doesn't make her less 13. I am white...she is adopted. :) Okay. She played in the pool (which has a fun fountain thing...consider that the last positive) and had fun. :) Bless her. She had two showers in one day because chlorine on her skin and drippy water on her back triggers her...so we used up all of our towels on the first day...and no, they didn't dry thanks to the humid weather....and remember, my kiddo has SEVERE special needs. So I asked at 9 am for another TOWEL, I was told to ask the front desk. Okay, I asked at 11, for another TOWEL, I was told that housekeeping was bringing a towel to my room..okay great. Then at 2 pm we still didn't have a TOWEL, so inappropriately (noted) my daughter was RUDE to the front desk "manager" because we still hadn't gotten a towel. The "manager" told us that she had the power to kick us out of the hotel, so we left the front desk and went back to our room. (we didn't threaten her, we didn't press the issue, we didn't continue to be rude, even though we were there for our second day, with NO HOUSEKEEPING, and no fresh towels for our SECOND DAY in their motel.) Remember back in the day when housekeeping came every day and replaced the few tiny towels they had given you on the first day? So we have WET TOWELS in our room, I have not taken a shower in two days and can't unless I use clothes or something else to dry off. I also want to note that we brought beach towels for the pool, but my kiddo has long braids (down to her rear) and she wet those towels too. ||||Okay, so we go back to our room and wait for towels. There is a knock at the door and I think, great, it's 4:00 pm finally we are getting our TOWEL. Nope, it's the "Manager" with the security guard there to kick us out of our room. I promise, all we did was ask for towels, my special needs daughter who was sensory triggered by wet dripping hair was rude, this is our only crime. She told me to get out or she'd send a note to Expedia and have us banned from the property FOREVER (let's take a moment to laugh at the idea that I'd ever come back...gotta find joy where you can). I told her we didn't threaten you, we left when you said you would kick us out, we don't have a weapon, we didn't specifically name you or suggest we'd become violent, we left when you said my kiddo was rude. We just wanted a towel, and my special needs 13-YEAR-OLD BLACK CHILD was rude PERIOD. and went back to our room to wait for a towel. So I reached out to Expedia, explained our situation and was refunded for the night (YAY EXPEDIA) and if you're still reading, it's 5 pm and we still don't have a new towel. ||||So we go to the car to get something, come back to our room and strangely our air conditioner no longer works. It is a 107F day in New Mexico and we are stuck in a room with a window that doesn't open with NO AIR CONDITIONING...so strange don't you think? The moment we leave our room, we suddenly don't have air conditioning. We appealed to the long-term residents and someone fixed our air conditioning and confirmed that the electricity can be cut off to our air con...and in fact, that is what happened because a quick re-plug, started it right up again. ||||Thank you rando resident guy, we love you. ||||So, it is now 10 pm, and we NEVER got our TOWEL...ever....and my kiddo who has faced trauma like no one will ever see in their life is afraid that someone has been in our room to sabotage us after we went out to dinner. I go in and check that no...luckily no more retaliation has happened. ||||So if you are keeping score. WE NEVER GOT A TOWEL. We were THREATENED TO MOVE...THREATENED TO RUIN MY ONLINE REPUTATION...THREATENED OUR LIFE BY CUTTING THE POWER TO OUR AIR CON...and triggered me and my child that someone is lurking in the halls ready to destroy something else...all because we asked FOR A TOWEL. ||||I have been terrified and I am a tough lady. I'm a foster adoptive mom to special needs kiddos I've seen a lot of ugliness, but this...this was disgusting. Really just don't give these people your money, you can stay at a ton of other low-budget places...don't take the risk. I truly am scared and anxious here. We would have left but I don't want to be bullied by a MOTEL to leave when all we did was ask for something they should have provided for us. ||||I'm sure they'll find some BS reason to keep my deposit, even when I leave the room spotless...but I'm going to take pictures and be ready, cause that's how scary and toxic these people are. ||||The woman who checked us in was amazing, but an immature woman who thought being a manager gave her license to threaten guests...was downright racist, discriminating,...
Read moreAbsolutely not worth it! We wish we never stayed here, but every where else was completely booked during balloon fiesta.
It was very over priced for the (inconvenience) of living here for let alone one week. The units are just okay, most of the bathrooms are not upgraded as everything else. They could've at least pulled out and replaced the disgusting bath tubs. That were stained, the shower wasn't working properly, the water did not heat up, and you had to play with the knob to even turn it warm. The shower was even dirty and not properly cleaned. When we first arrived to our room in the evening time, the security guard basically harassed me and my boyfriend about our dog. Starting from the elevator all the way to our door room. Saying there was no dogs allowed other than service dogs, but we clearly paid for our pet deposit. He didn't want to leave us alone until we showed him our receipt, which was in our vehicle down stairs. At the same time we were trying to get situated in our room, and our dog got scared by the loud noises of the elevator while everything was happening. This place is basically a horrible ghetto version of a motel. The halls reek of everyone's living stench, the floors never got cleaned when we stayed there, nobody even cleans after themselves, the room doors automatically shut leaving a loud noise every time someone leaves their room, the room door let alone isn't even completely sound proof because there's about an inch opening at the bottom of the door, so you can literally hear everything and everyone. The staff in the front desk are also only nice to you when you check in because they want you're money, but when you're ready to check out of your room they start to change on you, act different and snobby. They even left the front desk unoccupied saying they were going to be back in ten minutes because they're giving a tour of the rooms, but yet they're all in the corner of one hall gossiping about other people to another cleaning employee. It was very unprofessional. Please avoid this place unless you want to deal with this mess and headache...
Read moreThe title speaks volumes. And it resembles the excellent customer service that I received upon checking in to the Siegel select on University in Burque. Which by the way was conducted promptly, and efficiently. Everything was explained to me in a professional manner and w/ out confusion by the front CSR Sven. Sven has the ability to demonstrate hero like hospitality/ Customer Service. Me being a person w/ a severe dissability noticed Sven's excellent customer service skills due to the fact that I travel the Southwest throughout the year, and stay in Hotels because of the type of work I do. Upon asking Sven if he would show me a couple different options of rooms to suit my disability. Sven went above and beyond and invited me to check out a few different room options. Through out my length of stay I noticed the property was always kept up to corporate standards as far as being neat and clean. The hotel's front desk supervisor Sven has excellent guest relations and communication skills. All of the hotel staff ws happy to assist in a ccomodating me. The supervisor Ali, Leslie, Alnoor and Sven are all approachable, respectful, intelligent, and knowledgeable in the job they do. Overall all staff sees to it that you're length of stay is comfortable. Security is provided through out the night time hours to ensure the property is safe and quiet. The gentleman doing security does an excellent job. Everyone I mentioned will be the reason I will always choose the Siegel select hotel on University over any Marriott property, or Hilton property in Albuquerque. Thank you everyone again for...
