Desert Compass is an absolute dream!! We reached out to Kelly to see if we could utilize their space as our getting ready location for our wedding and they were amazing to work with. We stayed in the Coyote and Rattlesnake suites and they were IMPECCABLE. The lighting was magical and there were endless photo opportunities for group, solo, and couples shots. I’m obsessed with all of our photos. Our stay there was absolutely amazing and we throughly enjoyed the private patio for breakfast and coffee the morning after in the coyote sweet. The decor selections in both rooms made me want to redo my whole house when I get home. You can tell a lot of time and effort goes into making all of their rooms very warm, welcoming, and relaxing. Would highly recommend staying here to anyone coming to town!! (Photography by: Cam Storie and HMUA: Genica Lee)

The Desert Compass is one of the very few places I’ve stayed that truly wow-ed me. The attention to detail, the thoughtfulness in design, THE COMFORTABLE MATTRESSES AND PILLOWS, the cleanliness, the location… 🄹🄹🄹 I’ve been wanting to stay here for what feels like forever, and I’m so happy I finally got the chance. This is definitely in my top 5-10 stays of all-time, and top 5 non-hotel stays for sure! If you’re new to Albuquerque, enjoy local culture, want to check out Route 66 in Abq., or simply enjoy having a beautiful place to stay, don’t miss out on this one. They have several cute suites on the same property, so it’s great for families and groups as well!

I was in town to photograph a family going through some hardship and because I was popping in and out of their space for a few days I needed somewhere close to them. I found The Desert Compass when looking for somewhere nearby and it was just a minute down the road. The rates were comparable to hotel lodging with a lot more access to things I needed during this stay (kitchen, fridge, etc). The property is great, very beautiful and well taken care of. There is private parking as well. The room was much more than a room with a full living room & kitchen and bedroom. The bathroom was adorable but super tiny. The shower was interesting to shower in because there wasn't much space. For some perspective I'm 5'4 and because of the step up into the shower the shower head basically was on top of me. I also don't think there is much they could do to make the space more comfortable without doing a full remodel so I'm pretty impressed with what they did to make it comfortable anyway. And really the shower was fine for me but if I had been traveling with my 6ft husband he would have been very uncomfortable in the shower. I was in the Cowgirl suite so I'm not sure what the other bathroom spaces are like. But the bathroom situation would not keep me from booking this space again. It was such a comfortable place to come back to after a few difficult days. The bed was comfy too and I slept pretty well. The area around is great as well. Right across from a big park and a really neat old town shopping area & tons of food and coffee options well within walking distance. I would 100%...

Stayed in Cactus Suite on Valentine's weekend for our 15th anniversary. This review will be very matter-of-fact to highlight details that answer common questions. The location of this gated downtown property is awesome, being a 2-min walk from Blackbird Coffee (great coffee) & Old Town shops & a 2-min drive to Sawmill Market (trendy food court). Host responded ASAP to an inquiry & was accommodating. Parking is one vehicle per suite. Cactus Suite was clean, spacious, & comfortable. Kitchen was fully equipped, came with local ground coffee (with little creamers & sugar), microwave, & a pitcher of water in fridge. Low platform king bed has a firm memory foam mattress with a topper & 4 firm memory foam pillows. Shower has great water pressure. Fireplace is decorative. TV has Roku, no cable. No designated closet to hide the clutter of luggages & bags, but can be stored by the dresser/front door area. Backyard string lights get turned off around 11ish(?) pm, the window shades block out the lights well. Lots of windows make the place nice & bright, just a reminder that just below are the neighbors' & the property's backyards with people nearby. Good amount of outdoor seating & furniture that all look well-kept. There are quiet hrs (if I recall, 9pm-9am) for guests on the property. We really like this place at such a great value for its modern luxuries with...

This review is based on their customer service*

Me and one of my best friends were supposed to stay at one of the Desert Compass’ property, the Rattlesnake Suite. We booked it approximately 5 days before our trip and we were super excited.

The reason for our trip to Albuquerque was because my friend had to go toAlbuquerque to get his house with his roommates situated before he starts nursing school. Two days, before the trip the landlord sends a picture to my friend that their house had a pipe burst and needed to be repaired and cannot view the house for another few weeks, resulting in us not needing to drive to Albuquerque.

I messaged Kelly, Taya, and Anna about our situation. Unfortunately due to us booking so late and within one week of check-in, they were unable to give us a refund. They were so sincere and apologetic and offered a deal: If someone books the dates we were supposed to stay, we can receive our full refund.

Someone ended up booking!

Anyways, the Desert Compass is a fine company and I can tell they care about their guests. They’re communicate VERY WELL with their guests and they do everything in their power to accommodate for the guests’ experience. I trust them completely to provide for me in the future when I get to Albuquerque and no one else!...
