I really wish I could give this place a better review, because the food was actually quite tasty. What you need to watch out for here is shoddy customer service and a toxic work environment. My dad and I stopped by for lunch the Saturday after Christmas. The line to place orders was fairly long which was not overly surprising given the day and time. We placed our orders and were told the wait would be about 30 minutes. While waiting, we witnessed many issues indicating poor customer service and a toxic work environment. The restaurant was short-staffed, and the existing workers were being continuously berated for "not doing enough" by a man with tattoos who was going back and forth between the kitchen and the cash register. After 30 minutes, we asked about the status of our order and were informed that there had been some sort of snafu in the kitchen causing the orders to be "backed up." This would have been better if ours was the only order affected, but in talking to other people, it seemed some of them had also been waiting almost an hour for their food. One lady had been waiting an hour and fifteen minutes just for a few slices of pizza. Several people were asking for refunds. As far as what caused the kitchen snafu, the only reason we were given was that there were "new staff in the kitchen." At one point, I asked one of the servers about the status of our delayed order, but she couldn't answer because she had just been, in her own words, "kicked out of the kitchen." However, she did offer us complimentary drinks and an apology that we had to wait so long, which was nice. A few minutes after that, a displeased woman came up to the cash register and confronted the tattooed man about how long her order was taking. Another customer - her son - diffused the situation, and sent the woman back outside. The tattooed man then had the nerve to falsely accuse the son of being impatient, when the son had done no such thing. I can't help but wonder if the toxic work environment has contributed to the high turnover rate in the kitchen. When we finally got our pizza, after about an hour of waiting, the pizza was really tasty, but unfortunately not worth the misery of waiting for that long in a work environment that clearly needs some kind of overhaul. TLDR: if you choose to go here, just be prepared to wait for a long time, and if you go in person and see the tattooed guy, be prepared for a lot of yelling and dysfunction...
Read moreI have a soft spot for the pizza/salad buffet...miss the cheap pbr bottles. Come for micro monday half price local brews. Edit...I have been a few times since the new owners took possession. The good beer deals are gone. The Greek and ranch dressing are mediocre. The pasta is terrible. Pizzas are old and cold on the buffet, quality is down and prices are up. This in not an isolated review it is how this establishment is now operated. It has now entered the realm of tourist trap. Not even on par with little Cesar's. As I write this there is no pizza on the pizza buffet. My son found hair in his salad. Stay away!!! Response to owner: We ate part of a cold congealed pizza, approximately 1/3 of a pizza was available when we arrived my 8 year old who loves pizza said it was inedible and I agreed. we waited 40 minutes for a new pizza to arrive. If your employees told you 7-10 that is an out right deception. Our waters were not refilled or plates removed, there was a hair in the crutons. After waiting almost an hour for another pizza to arrive I cut my losses and went to the counter to speak with a manager. I was told no manager was available, I asked for one of the kids meals to be comped and was told no. I asked why it took so long for any pizza to appear and she blamed the cook acknowledging forty minute wait time, I asked if she thought it was fair to charge us for pizza that did not exist, she said no but we had to pay anyways. I asked her to call a manager and she walked off. I then proceeded to leave my name and number on the bill to remedy the situation with the owner. I never received a call just this response calling me a thief. The owner is not minding the store, and is not aware how his restaurant is being run. Do you really believe that your employees are going to inform you of the poor service they provided myself and my family? By the way, this is the second time I have been left with no pizza on the "pizza" buffet. I went at the behest of my eight year old who still remembers when it was a quality establishment.Instead if apologizing for a terrible dinning experience, and failing to contact me you call me a thief. You have a restaurant with literally no manager to handle situations like this. I hope your comments do not rise to the level of libel. You should be thanking me for bringing this to your attention, and leaving my contact info for you to discuss this in a...
Read moreCalled on one of my favorite restaurants to cater my up coming wedding. Mike the owner of Old Town Pizza Parlor just started a new catering business so I gave the local business a try for my wedding this past weekend (Sept 5); food here is awesome. Unfortunately that's where it stops, Mike is not the best person on communication and for an event like a wedding seems to be too much for him to handle. I understand his catering business is still new to him but if you can't handle the amount of people you shouldn't offer your services. Communications between his employees, E-mail, Text messages, and calling his line go unanswered or ignored. I needed to speak to Mike in the middle of my wedding, his staff was to supply ice and drinks until the event was over at 10 pm. I called the main store, they weren't aware of our event which was just across the street from their main location in Old Town. Nor were they made aware that they were to supply the drinks and ice all night. None the less my guest were happy with their appetizer and meals but my parents had to leave shortly after eating due to the lack of water that wasn't supplied by the end of dinner. I had to go to Walgreen's across the street and get my guest bottles of water. To me this is a total fail in catering!!! Unfortunate turn of events but it's still good food for a restaurant but I won't be showing up there ever again. I had three other couples getting married and had them turn away from his catering business. I can't recommend his catering business for the fact that I look in to two biggest factors in any business accountability and communication. Which failed on contract disconnect and lack of all means of communication through employees, email, text, phone calls. At least he called me a week after my wedding and left me a message on my voicemail after the fact about the drinks...
