This hotel poses a huge safety risk, especially if you are traveling with children. We visited this past weekend and encountered another “guest” that continued to stare and display stalking tendencies for well over an hour in the pool area. This guest was there alone with no one swimming in the pool and did not break eye contact the entire time. He would get up, stare as he walked past, stare through the windows in the hall, and then return to the pool area and continue the process over and over again. This was so extreme that other guests that had been in the pool area had come up to our group to make sure we were aware and check on us. We notified the front desk and she came down, told him to go back to his room, and informed us he was on a work crew for the Walmart remodel and had been there for 3 months. We shared that we did not feel safe and were scared to return to our rooms because we did not want him to know where they were. After this discussion, he returned and this continued for some more time until, finally he had left, but she came in shortly after and retrieved his belongings and his phone in a bag and said that he had left for work. This whole encounter just seemed off, almost as if they knew each other. The authorities were contacted, but advised that nothing could be done because he had not spoken any actual words to us. Once we had more male members of our group, we decided to move the now crying and terrified children to our rooms to find that several of our keys had been deactivated. At this point we decided it was not safe to stay at this property and left. The hotel refused to refund, but also did not take steps to ensure guest safety. After asking to speak with an owner, I have been notified that the woman at the front desk is part owner and escalation to Wyndham would do nothing since the complaint would just be rerouted back to the hotel. The outside doors into the property open without keys, the pool door can be opened with a credit card. This man has been there for at least three months and will continue to be for some time. After going through pictures of my children in the pool, this man is in the background making hand gestures as well. This wasn’t a misunderstanding, this was scary for a family just trying to have a nice weekend. Please, please...
Read moreSo the entire experience was absolutely sub-par, starting with the reservation. They refused to fully honor online prices they did manage to take an entire $4 the price to their credit. I wanted to pay with cash not a card. So I couldn't book the room on any of the other websites because they didn't have the pay with cash option (or at least I couldn't find it). When I arrived the lady at the desk was polite enough. The room was outdated and small. I was told on the phone when I made the reservation that the hot tub and pool were still open but there were restrictions on how many people could be in there. When I arrived the hot tub was drained and appeared to have been drained for quite some time. I had just worked an 18 hr shift and drove 3 hrs in less then perfect conditions and was really looking forward to the hot tub. What really truly upset me and the reason for the one start is: I had called the front desk and explained that I usually bring my own pillows because I have a medical condition and to use several pillows for support in order to be able to sleep but this time I was unable to, I asked the guy working if I could get a couple more pillows. He told me they had no extra pillows, I again politely explained to him my situation and asked him if he could get me pillows from another room that wasn't being used (this was at 2am). He told me he would not do that. I thought maybe the hotel was booked up but there was only 3 cars in the lot and he admitted that there were very few people in the hotel and very few reservations for the next day. I am still confused on why I couldn't get any extra pillows and get a decent night's rest. The bed was rock hard and I had to sleep on the couch. The room smelled of cigarette smoke and I absolutely HATE the smell of smoke. I was not pleased with the service or the room. I should have known not to book it when they wouldn't match prices even to their...
Read moreThe hotel lobby looks like it has been updated recently as compared to the exterior of the building. Check in process was relatively easy. I paid approximately $168 for a King bed with two chairs in the room (could have been more). Our room was right across from the pool. The hotel is dog friendly with $20 extra on top of the hotel fee, but this is a huge plus. The evening front desk person was nice and knew my name, but he was not overly friendly or helpful. I had to ask where my room was located and he pointed to a map. When I asked where the pool was located, he said in the building near my room, but it was located almost directly across the hallway from my room. The experience could have been a bit better. The room looked cleaned however.the bathroom looked a bit dirty and the toilet roll was almost empty. I had to change it after I checked in the room. The bedding had black stuff on the pillows and sheets. It was difficult to navigate the air conditioning for the room. There is an old fashioned thermostat on the wall, but the room is cooled by a wall air conditioning unit. The view outside the room was not that appealing as it faced a wooden fence. There was a spider web inside the window sill of the room. The only reason I looked was someone let off some fireworks. The room smells a bit stale. The morning front desk staff member was extremely helpful, pointed to the direction of the continental breakfast area, shared the layout of the hotel, asked us if we were continuing our stay in the area and suggested the boat tour to see the shipwrecks. He gets five stars ⭐️ and raised the level of my feelings about this property. The continental breakfast included coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice, cereals, waffles, apples, yogurt and milk. There is free...
