Hunan Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Alpena Township

Worst food place in town, and any place else honestly. When my fiance got home with the food we had ordered, all but one of the things we ordered were wrong, and food was dry and cold, so I called back up and talked to Jimmie, the owner, and he very rudely told me that his restaurant has been opened for 20 some years and he's NEVER had a complaint before, and to come back up IMMEDIATELY to get the replaced food because he decided all of a sudden that he was closing down early that day, and he hung up... so my boyfriend took all the food back up to the restaurant and told him sorry, we just wanted a refund and to be done with it all, and Jimmie EXPLODED, grabbed the food from my boyfriend, stormed off with it, shut down the kitchen right in front of him and told him to get out. We were SHOCKED, but long story short my boyfriend wouldn't leave ofcourse because Jimmie now had our food AND the $money, and Jimmie threatened to call the cops if he didn't leave, so Aaron told him please do call the police, because I need to talk to them myself now, and finally the police showed up and it was a TRUE SH** STORM, and never in my life have I or my fiance ever been treated like this before over bad, overpriced food. Anyways, this place has had alot of compalints and I know people who work there personally and the place is dirty and has pest issues and this whole thing is absolutely crazy. My boyfriend is new in the area and didnt know about the issues this place has before he ordered the food, and Chee Pings was closed (best food around, btw!) so I just went along with it this one time... and I seriously wish I hadn't. Please don't eat here, or give Hunans your hard earned money, he'll just jeep it AND your food and treat you...

The first time visiting this restaurant, I was with my son, the service was not very friendly, food mediocre & the waitress was rushing us to leave. We were very unimpressed. The last time I was there was 2-4-17, was with my boyfriend, we decided together to give Hunan's restaurant another chance. We were taken to a seat but wanted to be alone so we explained that to the hostess so she gave us a different seat, slightly away from other patrons. Before we ordered I used the restroom & while I was washing my hands I looked down at the sink bowl & noticed it was backed up & filthy & then I seen it! There was vomit coming out of the drain! I made my way back to my table but my boyfriend had switched tables. I told him the condition of the restroom & he told me that he switched tables because the hostess sat a whole family down(including small children) directly next to us after we specifically asked for a table away from other patrons in their UNCROWDED dining room. Even without considering my first visit with my son, strike 1)the hostess disappointed us with seating(why would she put a whole family next to a couple that is dining? &, strike 2) vomit coming up from the drain. We weren't going to wait around for the horror of strike 3. We decided to leave & won't...

Never will I ever. I probably think I’m scared for life after this lol. Took the family out for dinner, was offered soup while buffet finishes getting ready for dinner. Wonton soup had absolutely no flavor n was like wontons in sink water. Once we already told him the buffet and had soup we started to notice flies everywhere! Petching on our water cups, table etc. it should have been a que for us to pay for the soup n gtfo but multiple ppl started coming in so I figured maybe it’s not so bad. Nothing on the buffet line hardly. By the time I made my 3 kids plates n my husband made his there was nothing left. They literally don’t put hardly anything out. The fried rice was mush smh I literally went to the bathroom n got sick bc I was so disgusted. Everything else was oily n I mean dripping oil. I gave up and left literally 3 barely touched plates there bc each thing I tried got worse! Now a few days later as I write this from the toilet, my whole family has food poisoning and all sick n went to doctors. The owner was very nice and it’s pretty inside, but the food honestly got us physically sick now. I don’t even want to think of Chinese food let alone eat it for at least many years after...
