We have stayed on 30A for many years, renting condos at Dunes of Seagrove, Sugar Dunes and a house on Chelsea Loop. We decided last minute to rent in same area but will not rent again #303. The view is spectacular of the beach here and the beach uncrowded; however the condo had a general musty, dirty feel to it. Open the kitchen cabinets and I would not use any of the pots, pans, etc due to the general mustiness and uncleanliness. The ceiling fans had black soot on them; floor tile in some areas did not meet the walls and there was a wet spot and stain on the living room ceiling. Also, noticed mold on the kitchen ceiling. It literally looked like someone lives there fulltime and decided to pack up an hour before we got there. The decor is sorely outdated which I get that you don't want to update it but the general uncleanliness was hard to bear. The twin beds in the second bedroom are too short for the average teenager. There is plenty of room in there to put two queens. The condo does have spaciousness going for that but that is it! The comforters felt dirty and the blue carpet and kitchen rug are worn and dirty. Also, the condo above us is undergoing renovations which started at 7:30 a.m. weekdays and we weren't told about it. We did go visit that unit and it is going to be fabulous but apparently will rent for $5000 a week. I think those prices are outrageous for Commodore's Retreat. We will not stay here again when we have so many...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here during our spring break in unit 306. The unit was just like the pictures. The view was amazing as was the sound of the waves. A review on another site mentioned that you couldn't hear the waves due to the air conditioners next door -- but we had no trouble at all. Perhaps the air conditioners are noisier in the summer but I still can't imagine not being able to hear the surf as the beach is so close! It is a quiet beach; even on its busiest day it wasn't crowded at all. The condo was very clean. Parking can be tricky but was not a huge issue for us. The balcony is not completely private -- there is about a foot gap to the balcony next door. Sometimes our neighbors were a little noisy on their balcony but, again, not a problem most of the time. I wish we had brought our own pillows -- and I wish the condo association would provide better toilet paper! It was really poor quality; we quickly had to buy our own to replace it. Garrett Reality was a breeze to work with! We had no trouble with wi-fi. Cable TV with many channels worked well. VERY disappointed (and perplexing) that I couldn't find any recycling bins anywhere, not in the condo or in the city. I brought several things home so I could...
Read moreWhen we arrived, we were not immediately impressed with the building. Parking was tight, although manageable, and the elevator was "Out of Service for Maintenance and Repairs" - four days later it's still out of service. The condo unit we stayed in was comfortable, however we continued to find minor issues that made us wonder how well it is taken care of between guests. The bunk bed was broken, two plates in the cabinet were chopped with glass shards on them (hastily put away?), our beach access code was incorrect, and a spot on The ceiling appeared to be close to leaking. Again, very minor setbacks, but enough to make you question the care given to the building. Fortunately, the company we rented from was quick to send someone to address our concerns so that none of them negatively impacted our stay.||On a positive note, we really enjoy the location. It's nice being near the lake and on the ocean. There are also several restaurants that are within walking/biking distance (mile or less) or just a short drive away! The walkway to the beach also has convened locations for storing beach chairs and sanders, and the building has its own bike rake for those who choose to rent or bring a bike, that way they aren't forever...
