A very beautiful and large auditorium, well lit, audience comfortably seated and disciplined. There was no problem seeing the faculty and their demeanor and conduct were marvelous. However, relative to the seating of the graduates, that was totally unacceptable. How could the graduates and the parents and visitors sitting on the same side, the parents...siting above the Graduates? It was very difficult to see the Graduates or even to take pictutres of them. They were almost hidden and overshadowed by the huge audience behind them. For one to see them, the only way was to stand up at the side of the balcony on the steps to take pictures or see them, except only when they were robed to receive their hoods and degrees. It would be lovely to be seated opposite to the faculty and the graduands. If not, having screens within the auditorium to display the ceremony in progress would be ideal. I do hope my observation and comment will help fostering some change in future graduations. However, notwithstanding my observations and comments, it was a wonderful Graduation, having had the privilege of witnessing my nephew graduating from this prestigious Michigan Law School.

I've been to hill auditorium on two occasions. First, for a spectacular viewing of 2001: a Space Odessey with a live orchestra performing the score. Beautiful location, confusing movie, but still great experience. Glad that they offer events like this and others. Second, I went to Hill Auditorium for a high school graduation. Again, perfect location. The building added elegance and formality to the celebratory ceremony. Every time I walk in the architecture (especially ceiling design) leaves me in awe. Wonderful building in the heart of a wonderful city.

Hill Auditorium on the University of Michigan Ann Arbor school is the largest performance venue in the campus and is a lovely place to see events, musicals or award ceremonies. The auditorium was built in 1913 and still has old fashioned seating that has lost most of the cushion. The quality and comfort of the seats is my only complaint. The bathrooms were clean and parking was easy to find. I’d definitely return for another event however I’d make sure I had an outside seat to be able to get up and stretch my legs.

Hill Auditorium on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan is a gorgeous, historic theatre that’s great for any kind of performance from a lecture to a classical symphony to an NPR radio recording of “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me!” The seating was comfortable and that surrounding environment of the university campus was a great place to dine and walk around before the show started.

Ann Arbor treasure. Double the size of Carnegie Hall and at least of equal quality. One of the top 5 most acoustically-perfect buildings in the country. Rachmaninoff, Paderewski, Rostropovich, Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and Enrico Caruso are just some of the world’s best artists who have performed here. Do yourself a favor and see a performance here!

Saw Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit here. The acoustics really are amazing here for music and it was a great show. My only gripe is that the ‘no food or drink’ rule for a show like this kind of stinks. Alcohol aside, it would be nice if the venue sold or allowed bottles of water at least. Other than that, no complaints. Staff was friendly and helpful, finding our seats was easy.
