i was staying at the dallas arlington koa in a long-term spot. I had been there over 5 years I was injured in an automobile accident on August 30th of 2018 . This caused me to get several months behind in my rent, which was caught up. At 61 years old and being totally disabled I was told that I needed to get out. I did have my company's mail sent to there. Not one time did a customer ever come there. It was the only address that I had. I moved into the KOA because finances got very tight trying to build my business. Needless to say the wreck took my business away from me for the most part. New management came in and with a Hitler regime attitude told us that we needed to leave. They have actually kicked out quite a few people for various reasons. I'm not sure what their plan of action is or their long-term goal. I can tell you that the noise there at night is horrendous. sirens and loud music at all hours of the night. There is a police station very nearby. Not to mention numerous times of hearing gunshots. Idon't think any were ever in the KOA but I do know that they were very close. The trash in the creek has never been maintained, and the creek will flood when it rains heavy. if you stay in the tent area you are adjacent to a parking lot that has a high homeless population. Not to mention you have to cross a bridge that goes over a trash filled creek that floods. If you're looking for a family-friendly location to spend any extended time at I advise you to look somewhere else. The woman running the KOA is completely heartless! Don't be fooled into thinking that this is a family-friendly location. My opinion is that they have only one goal in mind, money! We went through over 7 months of having no bathrooms other than a trailer that was nothing more than a glorified Porta-Potty for a shower. They do finally have new showers. In the six years that I stayed there only twice was my site cleaned. I was told it was my responsibility to keep my sight clean and I did my utmost at that. I made sure that our site and my motorhome were clean as well. I even went so far as to refinish the picnic table which was horrendous! You couldn't touch it without getting black. Even though we were told that it was our responsibility to keep our site clean we were also told that we were not allowed to store any kind of lawn or garden equipment. This included rakes and shovels. There was a dead limb above my motorhome and asked repeatedly to have it taken down and was told over and over that it would be done, and I finally quit asking. The limb fell and broke the windshield on my motorhome. if you intend to stay there let it be known that you have to sign a contract that says regardless of what happens to you whether it's a direct result of the KOA employee or not they are not liable! The feral cat population is out of control! They would climb on my motorcycle and scratch the paint and tore my seat. They also get on the cars and the roof of our motorhome. I can tell you this, I will never spend another penny in any KOA!

We are full time RVer's, my husband's job sent him to Dallas for training and we know that KOA's have expectations of cleaniness which we like. I called and made reservations for a month; understood that the camper had to be newer than 15 years old (we are well within that range), the lady explained that we had to have current tags and registration which it did and explained the costs. No problem. We made the reservation in advance and had plans to move our residency to Texas before getting to Dallas but the job called and moved up the date that we had to be there. We were in another part of Texas working and the time we scheduled to change everything was no longer there so we would complete the residency change while in the Dallas area. In the meantime, the registration on our car expired, everything else still current. They took our money and got us checked in but said we had a week to get current registration on the car. 1.) I do not feel it is their place to rudely tell us how much time we have to renew something. We are in the middle of changing states and one week (with working M-F 7-4 in Dallas) was not going to be enough time to complete everything. 2.) The manager, Lea is very rude. I get that she wants a clean campground and I appreciate that, however the time frame for us taking care of our own registration and moving to Texas is not and should not be any of her business; we are neat, clean people, very quiet, have no pets or children to cause any problems so my car tag is the last thing she needed to be worried about. 3.) Out of curiosity, I wanted to know just how many other out of date tags there were in the park and easily found 3 right away. Living full time on the road and when things out of your control happen sometimes makes it difficult to take care of things before they expire. It's not ideal, I don't like it but the way she handled it was completely unacceptable. She could have said, I understand, thank you for explaining your situation and I know you are on top of it, that is all she had to say. I would have the upmost respect for her if she did, but no, she had to make me feel like I was a criminal trying to live somewhere for free or something which is not even close to who we are. We are professionals and do not need to be treated like we are a nuisance. My husband's job extended the amount of time he would be in Dallas but we had no desire to extend our stay with this KOA; we found another campground to go to for the second month. Normally, I do not even bother with reviews but sometimes the people, the managers, make all the difference and the manager and assistant manager at this KOA is the ONLY reason we will never come back. The campground is well maintained, could not ask for better bathrooms or grounds but there is not way in hell I will give people my business who treat me like dirt and that is exactly how they treated us for no reason. Oh and they also assumed we had noisy dogs, guess not liking their attitudes put them on their bad people list and it must be us with the noisy dogs in the outside pen, nope, instead of walking or riding the campground themselves to see they call me assuming the dogs were ours, really?? We have no pets and those dogs have been here since before we were here, the first thing I noticed was 3 noisy dogs two campers down. I never complained, although I feel it's a campground and not a residence and those dogs did make a lot of noise but I don't start trouble and it is not my place to do so. So they can ignore the fact that this camper had 3 noisy dogs for a month but wanted to give me a week to take care of an out of state expired tag that we were in the process of moving residency and were taking care of it, just not in their time frame. We lost a month on our tags, had to make 2 trips out of town and pay for 2 different state tags because of their rudeness. A little compassion and understand goes a long ways,...

This was my first time staying at a KOA, and I booked it while in town for a basketball tournament with my kids. Instead of the usual hotel, I thought it would be fun to try something different with more of an Airbnb type vibe. I specifically chose the larger cabin based on the pictures on the website, which showed a big front porch that looked perfect for relaxing and grilling. That porch was the main reason I paid more for the cabin that sleeps eight, even though we didn’t need all the space.

We arrived a few hours early after a long day of travel and asked about early check in, but it was denied due to housekeeping being short staffed. No problem, we left and came back at three. Check in was quick, but the front desk staff came off a bit passive and not very helpful when I pointed out that the cabin we got didn’t match the one shown online. The staff just kept saying “oh, so sorry” without offering a real solution. She came back shortly after with another staff member to help with the door code, and I used that opportunity to mention the TV issues I was having. Still, no one actually took a look at what I was explaining. They just repeated “oh, so sorry about that” and suggested I stream from my phone to the TV, which didn’t really solve anything.

Eventually, I spoke with the manager, who did take the time to listen. I explained that while I understood their point about cabins being assigned by floor plan, I had made my decision based on the photo shown on the website. That’s when I learned that you actually need to call and reserve a specific cabin if there's a particular one you want, because even though the pictures are listed, they don’t book based on images, only on the general floor plan. I explained that for a first time guest, that’s a little misleading, especially when the porch was a big part of what sold me on that cabin. He ended up trying to make it right, which I appreciated, and even came by later to help fix the TV issue himself. At that point, he could see exactly what I had been describing. A previous guest had changed the TV setup and user interface entirely. That’s all I wanted from the beginning, just someone to actually look into it.

We spent the rest of our stay grilling in the common area, which was fine, although the grills could definitely use some maintenance. The knobs didn’t work well to manage the flame, and one of the gas pipes was rusted and had holes in it, which meant I could only use one side of the grill. Still, we made the best of it and enjoyed our time.

I give this stay three stars. The biggest takeaway is that for first time KOA visitors, it's important to confirm exactly what your cabin will look like before booking. This review isn’t to bash the KOA experience as a whole. I would definitely stay at another location, but this is more to help others avoid the confusion I ran into this...
