This hotel when viewed online looks great, but is dated. This review may seem picky, but it is thorough and to be expected if you stay here.
Parking is tight, but reasonably lighted on pool/side entrance, would not advise to park on opposite side as you have to walk all the way around to either the front entrance, rear or opposite side entrances.
Ice only available on the second floor, which is a hassle when the only vending machine is on the first floor, which was also out of order. Laundry is also on the second floor.
Speaking of convenience items, room had sign stating if any toiletries were needed, just call the front desk. Forgot and needed toothpaste; stated out of stock, but did have toothbrushes.
Bathrooms had various colors of hair in bath tub, however beds and rooms appeared clean.
Remote for television did not control volume button on TV, needed manual access to TV to adjust volume.
Not a lot of accessible power outlets for personal devices.
Security issues: Card for side entrance was not necessary so anyone could get in and immediately access the only elevator and get to the floors and rooms. Only saw cameras in hallways and entrances as security, which is monitored by the front desk attendant, which in the 3 nights we stayed, there was only one. No other staff member was seen.
THE MAIN ISSUE! On our second night, noticed that our room did not open properly with our card and would not allow access to the room. Went to front desk and had cards rekeyed. Retried, and still had issues, after several more tries the lock finally accepted and let us into our rooms. Thinking nothing of it we've shut down for the night. That morning, we went down to breakfast and came back, issues with lock and card again, but instead I just turned to handled for the heck of it and the door opened! Fluke I thought, so I closed the door and tried it several times and every time the door would open without the card! It was possible that the door lock was in this state all night as we slept. We notified the front desk immediately; which their response was that they will get maintenance to repair it. Great, or so we thought, as we headed out (funeral). Upon our return late that night over 12 hours later, to our surprise our door lock WAS NOT REPAIRED! I immediately went down to the front desk and asked about our lock situation; the attendance's response was that maintenance was "off". So yes, our room and personal items were not secured for over 24 hours. Anyone could have accessed our room and potentially harmed us while we slept or upon our return! I questioned the security they had in place and the attendant's response was that she had been watching the cameras all day. Wow, top notch security! I asked if the room was able to be locked from the inside as we were extremely tired and did not want the hassle of swapping rooms, her response was "yes". But come to find out, the only thing keeping anyone out if the door lock is not operational is the door latch, which can be easily unlatched with the right tool; as I've seen before. So we ended packing up all of our items and swapping rooms in our exhausted state.
We never did receive any apology for this major security risk or for the inconvenience this had caused us.
WILL DEFINITELY NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN! The only positives I can give this place is the Continental breakfast had a decent variety (can't complain too much as it was free) and the breakfast attendant was nice, also the bed and pillows were very...
Read moreI’m going to start my saying I understand businesses have policies and procedures that must be followed. I also know there are times where good customer service sometimes means simply doing what is right. My plans changed yesterday when I realized I was not going to be able to attend my trip due to work. Duty calls and I have to be flexible. I was hoping this company would help out their preferred customer, and cancel the reservation although it was past my cancellation window. I was completely wrong and ended up losing faith in this company and it’s affiliates.
I was given the run around all day from 8a to 2p when the customer relations staff member finally said there was nothing anyone could do as the hotel would not honor the cancellation. I called at 8am this morning and a rep said this cancellation request should not be a problem, but when he reached out to the hotel, the manager supposedly wasn’t not in yet. So the rep told me to call back in one or two hours. At this point was mad, but played along just to see how it was going to play out. I called back two hours later around 10:30a and the exact same thing happened. This time the rep said she would be able to help me with this one time only cancellation as a courtesy. She called the hotel and was given the same information. The hotel manager was not in and this time offered to give me a call back when the cancellation as confirmed. Mind you I have been in hold on the phone for roughly 30 already and was completely dissatisfied with this process, but when I did not get a response by 2p and I was livid.
I called the hotel myself and was given a flat out “no a cancellation will not be honored” and the staff was extremely rude about it. I know for a fact that if my reservation was canceled TODAY as requested, Comfort Inn would not have a problem booking the room for the big game weekend. I understand policy and procedure, but a company ran by humans know there are situations that come up that are out of our control. I do not feel as though I should have to pay or be charged $345+ for a room when the hotel still had plenty of time to cancel by releasing the room and allowing someone else to book. Staff should have told me at 8am when I called that there was absolutely nothing that could be done. I haven’t event stepped one foot inside of the hotel, but if that’s my experience over 1,000 miles away, I’m sure I can expect the same standards day of my stay. So glad I’m not staying at this hotel.
I will no longer patronize this company and affiliates. I wanted this situation documented and I would appreciate a follow by a supervisor...
