Bojangles — Restaurant in Athens-Clarke County Unified Government

I would like to start off saying this is the first one star that I have given and if you look at my other reviews I like to give places good, detailed reviews. The food here was good, the tomato on my sandwich was a little green, but that is not the reason for the one star. The customer service of one individual took the other five stars. I went through the drive through, ordered, and paid. the girl asked me to pull ahead to wait for my order because it would take a little while. I understand that, lunch time rush may have run out of already prepared food. After 15 minutes of waiting and several cars behind me being served I began to wonder where my food was. I parked and went inside to see what was taking so long. I was greeted by another employee and I told her my situation to which she made sure my sandwich was being prepared. The original girl that took my order came up with my sandwich in a bag and filled 3 orders of fries emptying the basket and called for a new basket of fries. She then tells me my order is ready, but she is waiting for fries. The cooks in the back prepared a fresh basket of fries and the same original girl fills yet another order before giving me my sandwich and fries. This location used to be where I would go and enjoy a peaceful lunch away from the office. Understandably, the dining room closed when everyone lost their minds over Covid in 2020, but they have yet to open the dining room back up again.

I have had more positive encounters with the staff than negative. I have experienced the odd hours of operation that others have reported. It's usually a handwritten sign on a piece of copy paper affixed to the drive-thru speaker.

Recently, though, the food has taken a sharp dive downward. The last time I visited, I went through the drive-thru (no other choice) to order my usual Chicken Supremes Basket. They gave me the wrong food and I didn't notice until I got back to my office. I went back and they had my correct order waiting. When I opened the box, the chicken was like none I have ever been served from Bojangles. The Supremes themselves were very small in size, had a spongy texture, and on most of them the breading was half pealed off. Very strange and unappetizing.

This location is absolutely terrible. They constantly change and make up their own hours as they are fit. I understand that many businesses are having short staffing issues, but that is no excuse to cut corners and provide bad service. The food here is decent, if you have the patience to wait in a long line or if you happen to catch them while they're open.

I pulled up at the speaker at 7:53 tonight with a car in front of me waiting for food at the window. I was told they were closed. I asked what time they closed now and she said 8pm, but that they had already shut down the equipment. I asked why they would shut down the equipment early if they didn't close until 8pm and she said "we're short staffed"..

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've had a bad experience like this here, but other locations seem to be much better and more consistent.

I understand the challenges of finding and retaining workers, especially these days. But by God, if we advertise that we're closing at a certain time, we honor that by providing service up until the...
