There is something special about places like the Shark Shack which you don't often find outside of rural burger and shake stands in the deep southern boonies.
This place was admired by locals and tourists alike as a consistent, but the fast-moving line was ever present while we had our lunch here.
Other reviews hailed their burgers as monuments to the divine bovine and no doubt those are absolutely spot on assessments. The burger here is freaking mouth watering. No more need be said on that subject.
My party really enjoyed the grouper bites and shrimp basket as well, however, our only disappointment was with the fries which seemed to have been out of the fryer for a bit too long before being served.
The ambiance is an eclectic outdoor island life homage to the likes of Marley and a non-commercialized version of Margaritaville.
Good beer selection and thumping tunes set the backdrop for the colorful cast of characters which cycles through the picnic garden as you gnosh to your heart's content.
For what this place is, I'd say 4.5 rather than a 4. You simply don't find independent burger joints like...
Read moreEdit again since the owner wants to be snarky. I never received a response and communicated that to them as well. Checked over emails again and never received any kind of response before I edited my review. Yes, I saw a partial refund but that seems minimal when 3 people were physically sick from food consumed here. Owner was defensive and shifted blame to my family since “no one else complained of being sick”. I don’t know, completely rubbed me the wrong way and confirms my 1 star review. I will most definitely NOT be recommending this place to anyone at all.
ETA: Contacted owner after response below and never received a response back after the initial I will get back to you. Not sure what that was about so I guess they didn’t want to fix the situation.
All 3 of us were sick after eating here last night. I don’t think the shrimp were cooked all the way and we were paying for that now. Disappointed to have spent over $60 on food for this to be the outcome. The lady taking orders was cold and robotic - definitely not as friendly as the...
Read moreWent on July 5th for dinner and it was a disaster. 45 minute wait from getting in line to getting food for a group of 9. they were out of multiple items which one found out after waiting in line for 20+ minutes. They were out of tons of things like malt vinegar and hush puppies among other things.
Food ranged from pretty good to awful. Fish bites and fried shrimp were pretty good. Pickle chips were unacceptably soggy. Calamari was soggy in places. Soft shell crab was awful. Fries were decent.
Two containers had melted together, in general it seems little thought wax put into preparing a large order
No clue how this place is as highly reviewed as it is. Maybe it was just an instance of poor busy day preparation, maybe it's being in a tourist trap town, but, quite a bad taste in my mouth (thankfully not literally)
Also parking is terrible in the immediate area, and it's not in a walkable area, making getting those soggy pickle chips all the more difficult. While I won't fault a business for that, it's a worthy consideration when...
