Sadly disappointed with the recent changes in the equipment. I have been multiple times and previously have been very happy with my experience. I am a very poorly to average player. But no matter if I did ok or poorly in my score, it was always fun. However, this time was not the same. Previously my $30 gave me a pretty decent gun with multiple rounds of ammo and even though people were not of the same level of experience, the guns were the same for everyone. Now to have the same experience as before I have to pay more. The gun you now have for your $30 is a inferior weapon. To receive the same weapon as before it would cost me about $47. Pretty costly for one hour for a party of 10. Yes, there were 5 of their top players here tonight. However, I have played by chance, with them before, and lost then too. The difference this time was the weapons were not equal and the difference between the guns was not adequately explained. One of the top players on my team voiced his frustration several time and eventually walked out before the game, was over and another player from the other team walked out as well. There were 2 players on my team with the higher powered guns, but 4 on the other. 5/9 players on my team had never been there before. When players on both teams voiced that they felt the teams were unbalanced, the staff said that they would evaluate things after the first game. The top players from each team voiced almost after each game that they felt the teams were unbalanced but the female staff in charge did not change anything. The other 2 staff at the stations in the back however commented they felt things were unfair. Even the staff was not in agreement.
For me personally my gun had problems before the game started. The staff in the back pulled me aside and said my battery in my clip was dying and then replaced. Certainly understandable. However, following this I walked up to other players and shot at them several times with in 2-3 feet, but it did not kill the, yet they were able to turn and kill me. Shortly after this, the staff came to me and had to replace my vest and gun. I do not feel the equipment worked since you down graded the standard gun. The owner comments that they aggressively try to refund others due to equipment , yet no one approached me to offer a refund. They have my credit card information. Personally, I think all 10 of us should be refunded as well as the top player on my team who walked out in frustration.
When other people, at the game asked how the equipment was cleaned, they comment that it was only "febreeed". While I have played before and gladly accepted the "stinkiness" for the fun, I am not sure this meets health codes for disinfecting. The staff asked for us to comment on this site, however after looking at google reviews the owner clearly does not care about customer comments. He only focused on ridiculing the customers. My sister also went this google reviews at this time. He took the time to look up personal information on her and post that in his comments. A BIT CREEPY I MUST SAY. In other comments he tells customers not to come back and points out Chuckee Cheese as a place to visit. I brought 6 new family members and friends this time. Last visit for a friend's birthday, there were almost 16 new people who came with me. The time before that 6 new friends to the game and before that about 13 in our group. I have previously spoke very highly on your behalf, but it very sad how you have responded to customer remarks. Clearly our $300 spent this evening was not needed by the owner. We will not be returning.
This previously has been a very fun experience for me.... even when I lost miserably. It saddens me of the changes they have made and down graded the standard weapon. If you are thinking of a place to go with your kids or a place for all ages to have fun together you may want to consider Mac Daddy's, Lost Treasure putt putt and go karts or the escape room in Morehead City. That is where my family will be going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWould not recommend this place to anyone! The gun did not work most of the time and the vests are absolutely disgusting! They are damp and reek from the previous sweaty groups before you. Having them sprayed with āFrbreezeā before you get one is not the solution to fixing that problem either. The teams were not equal at all. You have to pay for an upgraded gun to even have a chance of scoring any points at all. You could stand directly in front of your opponents and fire multiple shots and the vests would not work for the majority of the game. Colossal waste of money!! The employees were not very helpful and offered little to no help at solving equipment malfunctions, nor did they even offer a refund after I walked out before the game was finished due to faulty equipment! The owner also clearly couldnāt care less about your experience here as you will see in his crassness of responses. I would recommend spending your money else where while visiting the Atlantic Beach area. $300 waste of money for my party if 10!!!!!!!
To the owner: I appreciate your feedback on my review. However, i find it disturbing that you someone felt the need to stalk my personal life and find out who my friends are and what they do as careers/hobbies. I also find it interesting that you avoided the cleanliness issue of your vests altogether. When I asked your staff directly how the vests were cleaned In between uses my response was as follows...ā we spray them with Febreezeā with a rolling of eyes by your staff member and a snide face remark in the direction to the other staff in the room at the time. That is unsanitary at best and would not meet the health code requirements concerning human contact with bodily fluids. And in case you are unaware sweat counts as human bodily fluid. I also feel that your assumption of my skill level or accuracy with shooting is just that, an assumption. Donāt assume just because this was the first time I visited YOUR facility I was ill equipped. We all know what they say about people who assume.... Rest assured, my first call on Tuesday morning will be to the health department to find out what exactly the standards are for type of facility. Maybe you should...
Read moreWe went for both laser tag and ax throwing. Decided to leave after our laser tag session ended. For the price, the time was sufficient and the play field was pretty good but very bright. The staff working with the teams were friendly and did a great job explaining the rules. This is where the good ended. Our group of 8 was split up because they fealt the teams would be unfair. We were all ok with that. One of the players on the opposite team ran to our bunker and kept shooting us out before we could even leave. If we did manage to get out, we would each repeatedly shoot him but he wouldn't light up for any of us. He could literally turn all the way around and get us as we were shooting him. It was so bad I was sure my gun was not working the first two rounds. We finally realized he was covering his sensor and informed staff. He was not pulled out but just switched to our team. We were not told that they decided to switch these two players around which then caused mass confusion the next round or two. Our team started off extremely frustrated. Following the switch part of our group on the opposite team were coming in with the same complaint. They kept shooting this guy (now on our team) and he literally would not light up. The entire experience was frustrating. Talking after the games ended we all agreed that this was by far the worst laser tag experience any of us have had. The potential is there but nobody has fun when there is someone cheating in the game. And that someone is said to have been a staff member 𤷠If we ever go back (which isn't likely) I'd definitely book a...
