Masters Inn Augusta Washington Rd, I-20 — Hotel in Augusta

This place is filthy infested with cockroaches, this place should be a public health hazard, me and my nephew booked this hotel and upon arrival, the front desk clerk attempted to make us pay an extra $157 on the room we’ve already paid for, then as we refused he pretends as if he was just confused, we then proceed to the room, upon entering there’s a foul stench of musty sweat, but we were tired from the drive so we thought ok maybe we can just rest for the day and deal with the rest tomorrow, sadly that’s not the case, the smell continues to grow worst as the time goes on, it had finally reached unbearable points so I has to go and requests the front desk to switch rooms for us, he had showed us other rooms, one was smelling worst than the previous, finally we found a room that smelled the least and thought maybe that was our break, but boy were we wrong, this room is infested with cockroaches, I think my nephew alone killed a family of 6 but there’s more that keeps coming out from underneath the bed, and for the short period of time I was in there, I had developed a rash on my leg due to its hygienic problem on the bed, by the time the clerk is no longer there, so we’ve decided to pack up and leave, but the nightmare isn’t over, as we contacted trip.com for support, trip.com’s initial offer for assistance was to refund me $20usd for the discomfort, with nothing from the hotels end, as the hotel refuses to refund or cancel the booking (the room was left open still at this point) all they’ve said according to trip.com was that we could stay in any room we’d like but there’s no refund (it doesn’t matter which room we’d stayed it’s all too filthy! And we’ve tried!) so trip ended up refunding half of the booking cost and left us dissatisfied, because this listing should not even be on...

As far as the room goes, it was what we expected. I did find 2 dead cockroaches upon inspecting the room when we first entered. And 2 empty packs of cigarettes behind the couch. So... Tells you how clean it is. AC unit worked fine.||The sheets were clean and the bed mattress was not bad at all. Good cheap vending machines too. Uber is great. We loved having Uber drivers and the freedom that signifies. ||The problem I had was with the front desk manager and the level of customer service. When I called ahead to the hotel in the months leading to the tournament, I was told the pool functioned, that we could leave our bags in the office while we went to the tournament, and that we would have a 2nd floor room. None of these things were reality. The pool is boarded up, and we were told they needed a permit. So they are blatantly lying about the pool. We were allowed to leave our bags behind the counter by one man and then 20 mins later we were not allowed to keep the bags behind the counter. They made us leave them in the lobby- a less safe location. And somehow the second floor room was no longer ours. ||The manager spoke over me when I was trying to tell him I was uncomfortable with leaving my bags in the lobby. There was shouting by the end. I worked in food service for 8 years. I own a retail store. The customer service is abysmal at this hotel.||We met a couple at the Bonefish Grille who said that folks in Augusta would be over the moon to host a couple like us in their home. That a condo or townhome would cost the same or less than what we paid for the Masters Inn. Homeowners take pride in their homes and are happy to have an out of town renter this week. No way to be nice on this. THIS PLACE SUCKS! I came down for a biking event and decided last minute I would not camp. BIG MISTAKE! Literally the nastiest place I've ever stayed. I'm upset I can't give less than one star. ||||- Room smelled like a dirty cig or bowl||- lighting was terrible. One LED light on the ceiling, not centered. Soul sucking...||- No peep hole in door..... Very sketchy area||- Bed cover, both beds, had burn holes in them. ||- TV remote didn't work... no buttons on tv. ||- Bathroom was NASTY - hair on the floor and dirty. Hole in the wall!||- Decor TERRIBLE, One bedside light didn't work. ||- Beside lights - Installed at different heights... WTF?||- They crammed some odd media center in the room?||- walls ugly, cracked, old light fixture in celing with just a hole. ||- Towels were terrible. I was my bike with softer towels. ||||This was a terrible place. DON'T GO HERE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. I was stuck as it was late and I had a biking event the next day. The only plus the sheets seemingly looked clean and the air/heat...
