We stay at Marriott's all the time, but I have notice that they are becoming more dirtier, nobody caring, less like that we will stay their again, in fact we have to go to Austin again in Nov, but are staying at the Hilton. We reserve this suite for 4 days since we were going to ACL the second weekend of Oct, when we got their at 8:30 pm, checked in, went to room, right off the bat I had to go get towels since their were 4 of us, they only had 3 sets, which they knew at the time of the reservation 4 adults, also one of us was sleeping on the pull out couch, when i pulled it out, it had not been cleaned, looked like for months, food all over it. When I went to get the towels, i told the night clerk (male) about these issues, he stated he could not do anything about it, I said could you leave a note about this for the maids the next day. So next day Friday comes around even though we had a Do NotDdisturb sign on the door, since we were leaving for the day/night nobody called the room, left a message on our door, heard nothing the whole time we stayed their. I had to sleep on the top of a 4 foot couch for 4 nights. Saturday morning poked my head out the door because we heard the maid, I asked for clean towels, she asked for which room, I told her and she gave them to me. Sunday when we came back from ACL late that night someone had been in our room when their was a Do Not Disturb sign on the door. This is very on safe that someone just walks into your room, replacing towels that had just been replenished on Sat. and just leaving 3 sets AGAIN. I went to the night clerk ( same guy as check in) I asked what is going on he just said I will leave a note, nobody again, no note, no call. I complained to Marriott on the website and to the Asst. Manager by email. Someone lied and said that someone named Joyce talked to us about all of this, Nobody named Joyce came to me. The Asst manger is just trying to cover herself. I opened 2 cases to find someone to help me, nobody did. So please do not stay at this Suite as their is nobody to help resolve your issues. Just out to collect your money and give you very...
Read morePlease AVOID this hotel if possible! You will defiantly get what you paid for. Upon arrival to my room I was checking in and the customer in front of me had a complaint. He told the front desk employee that he found 2 water bugs in his bed and wanted to get it changed. She told him there was nothing she could do and that all the rooms were full. She had an attitude about the situation and left it at that. It was time for me to check in and it went smoothly, but upon entering my room that's where the problem occurred. It smelled funny, it felt damp, air barely worked etc. I walk around and go into the bathroom and it's very disgusting. (See pictures attached). It was mold in the shower, it looked like the shower had just been used before I arrived there, There was a dirty, used face towel. There was red hair on the walls, mind you I'm bald so couldn't have been my hair. It smelled horrible, It was disgusting. No way I wanted to take a shower or even sleep there. I notified the front desk and they told me there is nothing they could do because they were full. I didn't feel comfortable staying there for the night. I called a family member who stayed close and asked if I could just stay they night to take a shower and get a decent night sleep. I called Marriott customer service opened a customer complaint case that night. I left and came back to check out the hotel next morning, I was asked by the front desk employee why I opened a case and how can it be fixed. When I asked to speak to the manager they were unavailable and was told they would be calling me the next day. It has been 10 days. I have emailed the GM, and assistant GM, 2x called 2x, and I still have not gotten a response from anyone. So, maybe they will see this post and reach out because I am not letting this go. I have been a Marriott member for years and never had a complaint and this has by far been the worse stay! I should've known with it being a 2 star hotel....
Read morePros:||+ Front desk staff: Fred went the extra mile for us when we checked in late at night after a mistake by a 3rd party vendor. It made a real difference in our trip.||+ Housekeeping: Polite and professional. They even found a shirt I had forgotten to put away and folded it for me while cleaning. ||+ General cleanliness. Aside from a small carpet stain next to the closet, I never noticed any issues with the room being unclean||+ Value||+ Decent location, though a bit far from downtown. You will need a car though.||+ Free breakfast||Cons:||- Bedding. Sheets are rough, pillows are lumpy, and the fitted sheet on the bed was too small so the corners kept rolling up and causing it to come loose.||- Thin walls. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing. You kind of have to keep your own TV volume lower than you'd like to not become the annoying neighbor yourself. ||- Inconvenient room setup. Some lights don't turn on unless others are on. The light switch for the bathroom is nearly behind the door, which makes it hard to find when you're fumbling around in the dark in the middle of the night. ||- Mediocre continental breakfast. The selection was okay, but they quickly ran out of things or put them away before I could get there. The scrambled eggs were a little gross, they were undercooked and slimy and had an odd taste. There also wasn't enough seating in the breakfast area, we had to take our food back to our room one day.||- Air conditioner is quite loud when it kicks on, it woke me up multiple times in the middle of the night||- Complimentary toiletries are low quality, you'll want to bring your own shampoo, body wash, etc. if you're picky about that stuff||- Toilet sits very low (a problem if you're tall), has a cheap plastic seat and cover, and is annoyingly finicky to flush||- The shower door in the bathroom didn't fully close.||- Both elevators in the building were non functional for all or...
