Admittedly I am ranking these guys very low for personal reasons, but it is my personal review.
My wife and I decided to break our routine and try something different for a change. So, we opted for a “buffet” style fare and decided to try this location out.
Now I understand that COVID 19 changes a few things but when we walked in there was no one at the register, we looked around and some younger guy kinda ducked in behind one of the registers and rang-up my wife and I.
We then picked a booth and went to check out what was being offered. We walked up to where the plates and silverware were at and my wife started to pick up a plate and silverware. It was at this point that from 20 feet away a young kid named “Cecilio” started yelling at her, “hey you can’t touch that” and started chastising her like she was a child. Please note that there were no signs were for us not to touch anything and clearly this kid was not managing his station. We had no idea of the “procedure” as it was our first trip.
We are in our 50’s and this kid might have been 20 so I called him out on his attitude. He kept up his obnoxious behavior and insolence and kept repeating he was trying to be calm, he was far from it. By this time my wife was so upset that she was barely able to eat.
For the combined $45 for two people to barely eat with a tip it was definitely not worth it. I will say that the people serving the food and watching the tables were first rate people, they just need some proper management.

Read moreMy review is based more on customer service. I bought a cake where the icing tasted off. So I called and was told if be transferred to a manager. 1st time over 6min on hold. I ended call and called back. When they finally answered I was told the same that I'd be transferred to manager. This time it was more like 10 on hold then it sounded as if the line was just picked up and they hung up. Called a 3rd time, this time I asked if there was anybody else I could speak to because no one was picking up the line over there and I'm trying to speak to someone that can handle issue. The lady that answered said I don't know what to tell you" he told me that he would handle it "whatever that means ( avoid call in my opinion) so she said she would transfer me again but this time the manager actually picked up the line right away. Which to me it was obvious manager was avoiding the call. So I told him the situation and I told him I've bought this cake so many times and it never tasted like the way this particular one did. He replied it was served all day and no one complained about it. So in that case "he" said he didn't know what to tell me. So basically I will stick to just visiting the south location which has better customer service all around. I'm not speaking of management in this case but of the cooks/ food area workers that will actually answer you if you have questions and smile. That's why we stopped going to north...
Read moreBy far the worse Golden Corral in America. First off, the place stinks, it smells like old mildew and wet shoes.
The food was horrible for $9 let alone the $19 I paid. I asked for a piece of sausage, the guy cut the end off, it was just grease, hardly no meat. I order steak, I got a piece of fat with one bite of actual meat. I saw the carne asada, guy literally cut off fat and gave it to me. Tried a few sides, so much salt it's all you could taste. I made a plate and took one bite of what I got. I threw the carne asada fat that was put on my plate directly into the garbage before even sitting down.
I tried some sausage peppers, figured that would be hard to mess up, of course not, sausage was only slightly better than the grease sausage I got earlier. After that I walked around with a plate for about 3 minutes, ended up leaving the empty plate by the salad bar and walked out.
This will be the first in my 44 years on this planet I'm making a chargeback with my bank, I would have never thought it would be for a restaurant but that place is a garbage pit. Every golden corral I ever been too has been pretty much the same, this one here in Austin should be called the...
