Dear readers This place does not deserve a star! Go to any store but not this Nasty Shahi Store or Cafe.
I have experienced a horrible situation at this store this morning. I have been shopping at this place since its inception, but today was a bad day for my wife and of course for me as well. I took my wife to do her shopping and also to get the prices for certain items that we would like to use on this coming Holly month of Ramadan. The Bangladeshi cashier-man who works there stopped my wife at the door and forceably took her shopping list off her hand. The man was asking my wife why your taking my prices and whom do you work for? My wife was shocked about his behavior and said I work for Fedex and I am doing my shopping. Give me my paper back. The man refused to give out. So she was offended by his poor behavior and came to met at the car outside the store telling me what happened to her. I came to him and said:" brother get your your thinking and thoughts right and balanced, we are your customers, doing our shopping, give me the shopping list back." The Bangladeshi cashier refused and hard to understand what he is saying en English. He called his brother, the owner of the store who told him to keep the list. I am not a stranger to this store or even to this cashier I've been shopping for so many years there. I had to call 911 who sent 2 police officers to the place. We explained to them the situation, the officers got the shopping paper from him and gave it to us then we left for ever. This place is no good, deceives customer in very high prices compared to other stores in the area. The man forgot that he is in Austin, TX not in Dakha, Bangladesh. Respect women even if they are from different background and have respect to the shoppers they are your customers whether they buy or not. Have a competitive prices on your products so that you keep customers shopping from your store. And above all, have some respect to yourself, if your don't you will have very tough and serious problems in the future in this country. Respect women, and don't forceably take things out of...
Read moreI went there a couple of time. The only reason is because they are the closet for goat meat. The customer service is horrible. The guy at the counter took ten minutes argue with another customer. So here the story. A customer bought goat meat. He bought a huge amount for a party or something. He asked for a receipt because he believe he got the wrong change. The counter guy said he gave to his friend, but his friend said he was carrying the goat meat to his car. They kept arguing for another few minutes or so. When i asked him if i can pay for the goat meat i was going to by , He said wait for a minute in a rude tone. I waited for a while longer, so i bought one of the samosa at the counter. The line started to get longer. After 10 minutes or so, he finally gave the change to the other guy and I was so happy that i can leave. So now, I gave this store many chances but now i'm rarely likely to go there unless it a holiday or my son birthday...
Read moreThis is my favorite restaurant in Austin. I happen to eat two to three meals a week at this establishment. I like that this cafe is attached to a small grocery and butcher shop. The meat is so fresh and grilled when you order it. I like that the food is not too spicy like other restaurants with a similar menu. They have a fantastic lunch buffet from 11am to 4pm for $7.99!! My favorite meat is the chicken tikka kabob lunch special with rice and spinach pakora. Ordering over the phone or online requires a little patience because of the language barrier sometimes, but you will come to appreciate the quality food served here. Their employees are a little shy at first but so pleasant once you get...
