Ho Ho? More like NO NO. Service here is terrible and rude. Whenever you dine at an Asian restaurant you pretty much have to expect mediocre to subpar service but the staff here seriously needs to take a few classes on customer service. Maybe it's the language barrier? Also a few of my friends got food poisoning. A group of 17 of us came to dine here so they split us up between two tables of ten but I got lucky and sat at the table where no one got food poisoning. However, the majority of us had to take immediate sh*ts afterwards.
We got there at 6:30pm and before we sat down they asked us to leave the restaurant by 7:30pm because of reservations they already had. They rushed us to order and maybe we got food poisoning because they were rushing out our food. They didn't even have the decency to read our order back to us to make sure they got everything correct!
My friend ordered the coffee and they completely forgot to give it to him. The service was so bad that we couldn't flag down anyone during our meal to inform them of the missing coffee until the VERY end when they rushed us to pay the bill. After our check came out, I didn't get a chance to look at the bill as they were rushing us to pay. They practically stood there tapping their feet waiting for me to pull out my credit card. We informed them they forgot the coffee so they brought it out way after everyone already finished eating. The man who brought out the coffee brought out a bill for it and kept waving it in our faces stating "coffee $2.71. $2.71" which was absurd because we ordered the coffee when we ordered our dinner. He ran to check our previous bill and said the coffee wasn't included and again waived the bill in our face and said "$2.71! $2.71!" So my friend got fed up and just gave him his credit card but then the guy says "cannot run credit card unless over $5" which was so incredibly stupid because our large dinner bill was already covered by credit card. Any restaurant with remotely decent customer service would've comped us the coffee. Get this...my friend paid with a $5 bill and they gave him change in ALL coins! SO RUDE. I know y'all have $1 bills in that cash register of yours! First of all, you guys were the ones who forgot to bring out the coffee when we ordered it at the same time we ordered the food...and now you're giving us $2.29 change in all coins after forcing us to pay cash for the coffee that you are bringing out after half our party already left. What kind of service is that?
The food here is not even that good. The food is a solid 2.5/5. Their chili oil is not even spicy in the slightest. The crab meat with fish maw soup was a tad salty. The roast duck had a funny taste. While the crunchy skin on the roast pork was good and crispy, the meat itself was dry. The salty fried squid was average. It could've used more spice and more flavor. The "cheese" fried shrimp did not really taste cheesy and just seemed like battered fried shrimp. I would not recommend anything here. In fact, you should avoid this place. Terrible service AND food poisoning? That's just a recipe for...
Read moreIt's not often I leave a 1-star review, but if there is a place that deserves it, it's Ho Ho. I waited 15 minutes for our party of 6 to be seated last Sunday. The place was pretty empty at the time. When we were finally acknowledged, they sat us in the corner table, far away from everyone else. It was odd to see the others being seated in closer groups, but I understood why a bit later on. After getting us water, we waited 15 minutes until our server came back and asked for our order. I asked her a few questions about the menu and she made the comment, "white people no like that. It's for Korean people only." Okay, point taken. I mentioned that I needed more time, and she rolled her eyes, said something in an Asian language and walked away. After that I wanted to leave, but my friends where committed to staying. I'm not exaggerating when I say we waited 30+ minutes for her to come back to our table. She ignored every attempt to grab her attention. Finally, one of our friends got up and got in her face to ask for her to take our order. We finally received our food, over an hour after sitting down. The food was good, but when it was time to get our check, it was the same scenario. We had to go ask her for the check and then we waited in line to pay. It took us 25 minutes, waiting in a crowded lobby, to pay. The people at the front counter do everything except take our money. They take phone orders, chop up chicken, run to the kitchen, box up to-go orders, but try to pay and you're ignored. Never EVER again will I go back to this place. Without a doubt, this was the worst dinning...
Read moreThis used to be my go-to Chinese restaurant, but after my most recent experience I'll be in search for a different spot.
I had placed an order for 4 items (squid, fried rice, chicken which came with complementary rice, and lo mein). I picked up my food, went home and to my dismay I saw they had forgotten to give us our Chicken dish.
So instead of solving our problem, the staff began to question my integrity by looking up my number and how many times I had previously ordered from the location? What, who does that? -- They refused to believe they had forgotten my chicken dish. After staying firm, they eventually realized they forgot my order. -- They asked I come in and pick up my missing dish. I found that to be absurd since I am without a vehicle and had borrowed my gf's car in order to retrieve the original order. We asked they deliver our missing dish to us since this was THEIR mistake, but of course they refused.
I was credited for the missing dish and went in the next day to pick up my order. The young lady opened my order in front of everyone in a patronizing and sarcastic manner in order to show that it indeed had my chicken. When I showed her my previous receipt, she yanked it out of my hand and disposed it. I'm glad I had a copy of my original receipt because I had paid $12 for the chicken dish. But the chicken I picked up was credited for ONLY $9 so in essence they were able to make a $3 profit out of me due to THEIR mistake!
So I'm writing this review to say thank you Ho Ho for living up to your name and scamming your...
