I am currently in between homes so I am spending a lot of time in hotels. I recently quickly gave one of my Marriott stays all excellents because the hotel I was in didn’t feel as comfortable as I like when the rates were very comparable. This time however, I have to note for the public my experience. I book through 3rd party so checked before booking what room I would be assigned. It was almost 8pm, the parking lot was empty but he said (like the girl in the building behind this did me one night) that he had no first floor rooms. I questioned him about the parking lot then he found ONE. #108. I said, fine I was in that room in my last stay. I was mistaken. I was in #118. He said, GOTCHA when I agreed to the room but I booked anyway. I didn’t like the room so agreed with his original suggestion that I lodge upstairs. He questioned me once with a stern voice- is there something wrong with the room? I know that’s a normal reaction but it again reminded me of the front desk person and our negative exchange in the building behind here. He abandoned the vibe quickly and gave me the higher floor. I liked the room so let go of any negativity I may have been feeling. Next, I come in to find a cart to take up my things. I ALWAYS go back and forth with a cart to unload my car. He tells me that he has no carts and warns me that he has told several people already that this is so. I asked how he expected me to get all of my things upstairs if there are no carts. He shrugged, said he was just covering the shift and was not the manager. Well, I am in Marriott land, there is a Courtyard across the street and a Residence behind the Fairfield. I said I would just cross the street (I stayed there the two previous nights) and grab one. I went to Residence instead. I asked if I could use one of his (he had 3 just sitting there) and he was kind enough (???) to allow the access. I wheeled a cart across the parking lot and kept it over night for fear of waking up in the morning to having no carts for my 5-7 bags. Finally, the worst part was my bed. I think they switched to a detergent that I am allergic to because yesterday after leaving the courtyard Marriott my legs (I slept in 3/4 pants) itched like crazy! I scratched so much that my legs were white. It stayed on my mind as I tried to figure out the source of the irritation. THEN last night as I stayed in the shower forever trying to get the itch out, it finally settled. I did some running around but when it was time to sleep, I felt the itch coming back. I started scratching. I then decided to wash my legs again, put a mask on them and sleep ON TOP of the covers. It seems to have done the trick. I am currently not itching at all. I didn’t ask about a change in the detergent but will. I have been sleeping in Marriotts off and on since April of this year. I have attached photos of my returning the cart- which cart doesn’t belong? I had to make room for it. Now, incidentally when leaving a woman carrying ONE bag congratulated me on having the one cart in the building. I should have congratulated her for...
Read moreRecently stayed three nights, found out after the first night upon returning to the room that stays under three nights do not qualify for housekeeping. This was not stated anywhere on the website when reservations were made. Had an adversarial interaction with a Jordan A. at the customer service desk regarding access to laundry detergent. The sign in the laundry room said that the hotel provided complimentary detergent. As the machines are not large, we had three small loads but Jordan advised he was only able to provide one or he would have to get more soap from the Residence Inn next door. It's not the customer's job to know the supply policies of the hotel, and certainly shouldn't feel berated or belittled when asking for a service that is supposed to be provided. When the employee called the Residence Inn, detergent was immediately delivered, but not before a loud public embarrassing and disparaging interaction with Jordan A. My daughter came down in the minutes following this exchange and asked where to locate the laundry room. Not aware that this was a person in my party, he told her, in addition to offering his opinion about the person already in the laundry room. Asking for fresh towels later in the stay, did remark to another employee that it would have been nice to know that there was no housekeeping. He replied, "Well this is not the Ritz Carlton." For sure, to add insult to injury, our spare trailer tire was stolen from the bed of the truck on the last night of the stay. The Marriott name certainly played a large role in the choice of hotel for this stay, as well as the fact that the hotel was recommended by the organizer of the event that had brought us to town. Please be assured that the event organizer was informed of this experience. While it is certain that we will never stay again at this Fairfield Inn location, the Marriott brand will be indelibly linked to this stay for future...
Read moreMy fiancee and I got married in Walkersville, MD and we were SO HAPPY with our choice of the Fairfield Inn & Suites Frederick. Our coordinator, Janet, has been AMAZING from Day 1 and has helped make this such a stress-free part of our wedding planning prep. Janet has been very communicative and always goes above and beyond to make sure we had the proper wedding arrangements for ourselves and our guests. One of the things I appreciate most is that Janet doesn't immediately say 'No' to any of our requests, rather fully listens to us and then proposes options tailored to our situation. During our wedding weekend, the Front Desk Manager, Becky was OUTSTANDING and was so accommodating in making sure my family was taken care of. We had some last minute booking changes and they bent over backwards to accommodate us which is even more impressive considering the had 5 weddings on our wedding weekend! The breakfast was top notch and my family was able to eat together in their large dining area. Their rooms were so clean, the A/C worked great, and they even helped to make sure our older relatives had handicap accessible rooms. The staff was top notch in every regard and really came through for us on our biggest weekend. We booked their entertaining room in the sister Residence Inn across the parking lot and the room was set up perfect and they were again so helpful and accommodating. Everything exceeded my expectations and this location is the GO TO for any events in the Frederick, MD area. Their prices are the best in the area and their hospitality makes you feel like their a 5-star hotel (honestly). We had such personalized attention and couldn't have been happier! I've been known to jump between different hotel loyalty programs, however Janet, Becky, and the staff at Fairfield Inn & Suites Frederick has helped me become more of a Fairfield/Marriott loyalist after...
