It's a long story..so get comfortable. My (now) fiance purchased a bridal set for me back on December 15th. Waldin Jewelers had a Christmas sale going on, so the set he purchased was 50% off. The original price of the set was $3200, so with tax and after the 50% off, the set was just under $1700. It was a beautiful bridal set, and when he asked me to marry him, I fell in love with the ring. So that evening we went into Waldin Jewelers to drop it off for it to be sized. They sell all of their women's rings as a size 7. My fiance and my Mom both told the employee they were working with that the ring needed to be a size 10. The ring had diamonds all the way around both bands (the engagement ring band and the wedding band). But the sales person sold him the set anyway. So, Saturday when we were in the store to drop it off for sizing, we learned that it couldn't be made into a size 10. Of course I was highly upset because I loved the set. So we looked around for something we could do an even exchange for. There were no other bridal sets within the price range that I liked, so I suggested we look at separate pieces. So I found an engagement ring that I absolutely loved. Since the ring sizing issue was their fault, they told us they were going to honor the same sale discount that my fiance took advantage of the first time. Well, the engagement ring I found was in the clearance case which was marked 70% off. So the original price of the engagement ring that we are looking at now is $2055. If you take 70% off of that, it brings the price down to $616.50. With tax it would bring it to $653.49. So the original total cost of the first bridal set was (just under) $1700, and we had exchanged it for the $653.49 engagement ring. So therefore, $1046.51 should have been refunded to us, correct??!! Well, it wasn't. So I had written a review on here that I absolutely hated this store and would never return and would do the rest of our jewelry shopping at Kay's (or any other store). But the store manager contacted me personally and asked me why I was so dissatisfied. I explained the entire scenario and he told me to come back into the store and work with him personally. So I did. Tuesday evening I head back to Waldin Jewelers. And he was awesome. He gave me a wedding band priced at $1999 and said that he would give me this to make up for the amount that wasn't refunded to me, and wouldn't charge me any extra money. So I was happy! It was sized within 2 days. I received the phone call this evening that the sizing process was done and the rings were ready to be picked up. So I went in and a different sales person assisted me since the store manager wasn't in. She was absolutely wonderful! She kept asking if I was happy and if there was anything else she could do for me and she really went the extra mile to make sure I was 100% satisfied. And I reassured her I was 110% happy! So before leaving, she put my rings in the box and bagged it up and then said, "hold on, I have one more thing for you." So I waited, and she brought over a jewelry box, free of charge. She explained to me that because of all of the issues that had happened within the last few days, they wanted to make sure I was beyond happy. I thought that was extra nice and they didn't need to do that. But I accepted it and told her that I will definitely consider returning in the future. I would definitely decide to work with a different sales person instead of the one we dealt with on the first 2 visits. I'm glad everything is squared away and I'm glad there isn't any hard feelings. So after a total of 4 visits, I am happy and my ring is sparkling away on...
Read moreWe were extremely disappointed with our experience at Waldin Jewelers. Our wedding rings, already delayed past the promised completion date, arrived with multiple serious issues:
-My fiancé’s ring was over a quarter size smaller than the agreed-upon sizing causing discomfort that at pick up seemed acceptable, but after putting it on and taking it off a couple of times quickly cause swelling to my fiancé’s finger.
-There were three loose stones.
-The wedding band, which we had requested as a straight band, was altered to curve around the engagement ring without discussion. While my fiancé liked the look, this was a significant design change that was never approved.
These issues caused significant stress during the week leading up to our wedding, forcing us to take the ring to a master jeweler for repairs and resizing to ensure it would be ready on time.
We attempted to contact Waldin Jewelers via the email listed on their website to raise these concerns, but it bounced back as invalid. Since we could not reach them directly, we are posting this review to share our experience.
It’s worth noting that while the rings may have seemed acceptable at first glance, a closer inspection revealed serious flaws—similar to buying a house that looks perfect until an inspector points out hidden problems.
In addition to the product issues, the staff were overly salesy and insincere — constantly flattering us and acting as if their main goal was simply to close a sale, rather than honestly guiding or advising us. Their interactions felt fake and disingenuous, which further undermined our trust.
We cannot recommend this shop and will not be using their services again. We hope they take this feedback seriously and make changes to prevent future customers from experiencing...
Read moreOn one of the really cold days this past weekend, we were strolling the Francis Scott Key mall and exercising our right to window shop, when my eye fell on the beautiful selection of diamond jewelry at Waldin Jewelers. We stopped to look at the selection and as I was making up my mind, the salesperson (Sonia) approached us very casually - I thought the timing was perfect, she allowed me to have time to look. She spent a great deal of time showing and answering questions. I must say Sonia was very personable and I wanted to take time to recognize her by writing this review. Sonia also offered deep discounts, when she saw that I was really interested but the price still looked high, she spoke to her manager and he approved her to offer an additional discount, which helped a lot. Sonia offered us coffee, gave my little one candies to keep her busy while I shopped and also gave my husband a gift for patiently letting me shop.
I must say Sonia had an outstanding display of salesmanship. Her dedication, perseverance and enthusiasm to sell WITHOUT coming across as pushy salesperson will help Waldin Jewelers make a good name. As I am totally on the hook to return and be their long...
