The Briar Patch — Local services in Bangor

I always make a point to visit indie booksellers when I travel, and The Briar Patch did not disappoint! Store was stocked to the brim, and the gentleman behind the counter was warm, friendly, and quick to make recommendations based on books I was looking at. The store is quite tightly packed, and the only demerit is for the fact that many bookshelves were stacked two rows deep, meaning whole rows of books were stocked behind others, meaning you have to move several just to see what's behind them. I can understand this organization method, though, seeing as how space is at a premium here.

I now understand why I've heard people describe the Briar Patch as the heart of Bangor! A charming bookstore with a focus on children's books and a strong selection of adult titles as well. The staff clearly loves not just their store, but their town, and always goes above and beyond for their community.
