Terrible Experience – Would Not Recommend
We stayed at this hotel for a bowling event and were extremely disappointed with both the service and the overall experience — especially considering the $200+ per night rate.
Upon arrival, our room was dirty, with hair and leftover bathroom residue in the toilet. The rooms also lack basic amenities like a microwave and fridge, and housekeeping is only provided every three days, so we had to request fresh towels and other essentials ourselves.
When I raised these concerns, the hotel manager Michelle Tilghman didn’t even come out to speak with me — instead, she sent another employee and gave us a $20 credit, which felt like a dismissive and inadequate response given the issues we faced.
The biggest problem came from the valet service. When we picked up our truck, the entire rear passenger door had been severely damaged. The valet manager, Georgia Toomer, tried to deny responsibility, claiming the parking lot wasn’t under surveillance. Michelle Tilghman and hotel executive Daniel Hutchinson also refused to put in writing that the cameras were down, citing an “ongoing investigation” — even though the police report confirmed the hotel was at fault.
This wasn’t an isolated incident. Two friends staying at the hotel also had problems with valet. One had a car lightly hit by another vehicle (thankfully no damage), and another suffered significant damage to a rental car — and once again, Georgia Toomer denied responsibility. That’s three separate valet incidents in three days, with no accountability from hotel leadership.
Adding to the frustration, the hotel is misleading online. The pictures make it seem like there’s a large, fully functioning casino on-site. In reality, it’s a small casino in the back of the parking lot with just three tables and limited slot machines, and restricted hours. They offer a shuttle to the Queen of Baton Rouge Casino, which has only six tables and slots. When we played there and were up around $300–$400, we were suddenly told we could no longer play blackjack due to a policy “from management.” After a 30–45 minute back-and-forth, we were eventually given food vouchers, but the whole situation left us feeling frustrated and unwelcome.
Overall, our stay was filled with disappointments — from lack of cleanliness and basic amenities, to valet damage, management avoidance, misleading advertising, and poor customer service. I strongly advise against staying here and would never recommend this hotel to anyone. It absolutely ruined what should have been an enjoyable trip to...
Read moreStarting with valet, Mia was exceptional especially due to our unlikely circumstances. She went above and beyond to ensure our care, much love to her and the humanity coupled with extreme customer centricity she shared. Ms Georgia was also a gem. Bringing us an umbrella in the rain and being gentle with us and our big truck. Christian closed our experience above the bar. He was so prompt and had the key in his hand before I could even begin as well as closing my door…which he didn’t know I needed help with actually due to my disability. The teams communication to ensure our care was matchless. An exceptional young lady who made my coffee and snack order one of a kind, she was as sweet as my danish. My two favorite front desk people who I don’t know their names, but one had blondish braids and the other had beautiful locs. Their hair was as beautiful and bright as their energy. So kind and accommodating, leverage their energy if you can….they are both priceless. I can’t forget the security at time of arrival, the kindest man from New Orleans and departure…a cheerful man that made me smile. My stay was blessed to say it best and I would be remised not to mention Ms Michelle who made everything happen! Thank you to everyone...
Read moreWe stayed at Ballys Hotel in Baton Rouge La for three days at the end of April 2025. We were aware there were no restaurants in the facility but were rather perplexed upon checkout. There was a small stipend for patrons for limited breakfast items in the lobby; this information was never shared with us upon check in. We checked out in time and paid our bill but since they had closed our service bill, they could not extend that benefit to us. I explained we were not informed prior to checkout but the front desk staff were not willing to offer us that benefit. The communication was lacking and the rooms were very dark(very dark grey) and poorly lit. The ice maker was out of order on the first floor the entire time, there was an $30 fee for a refrigerator if you wanted one, we received no towels 2 of the three days & had to retrieve them from the front desk ourselves. There was only 1 chair and no table, there were 2 of us staying in the room and the telephone did not work. The lighting was very poor (LED) in the rooms, we had to use our own flashlights if we wanted to read anything or to see items we needed in the room. Our view was the valet on the first floor. Needless to say, disappointed and won't...
