Before I get to the bad, I do want to point out that the Wait Staff and Hosting staff were fantastic. So this rating begins with 5 stars.

While the restaurant is beautiful, I wont be returning there again. One problem I had is the set menu for Valentines Day. I understand that having a set menu for a holiday such as Valentines Day is normal, the menu only applied to those sitting at a table. Anyone sitting at the bar had other options. The point of a set menu is for efficiency... I knew a couple sitting at the bar and they said they wait around the same time as we did for our meal. The steak we ordered was medium rare like we asked with a think crunchy layer of charred beef jerky. The chicken we ordered was fine, that came with 7 small potato halves and 3 tiny carrots. So the set menu was not necessary. Now the rating is a 4 star.

Next, the area to the kitchen is open for the restaurant to see. The only problem is if youre going to have this, tell your kitchen staff that lips can be read if you have to send back a dish. This discouraged me from sending back the steak we ordered even though it was around $50 for the steak. I think a lady sent back a salad and you can see the attitude on the bearded guys face. Now its a 3 star rating.

And finally. I love salted butterscotch. I love cheesecake. I love sesame seeds. I would have loved the cheesecake dessert if it didn't taste like someone mistook the salt for sugar. When I tell you that the sauce they put on the cheesecake was so unpalatable, even scrapping off the excessive amount of sauce didn't even help the taste. 2 stars.

We paid $150 for 2 people to have a "3 course meal" and Ill never do...

Waitress took our drink order upon arrival. It then took over 15 min to get them. Then ordered begneits and our food. We ordered poached eggs and toast and grits with chunks of roast beef. First off all, no where on the menu did it say there was peppers in the roast beef and grits. That could have been a huge problem for someone that has food allergies. It took over an hour to get part of our meal. When we asked the waitress how much longer as it had been an hour, she came back with another 10 min.. We finally got part of the meal and I still had to wait for my eggs. Being a diabetic, if food is going to take that long they should let the patrons know. When I made a comment to the waitress that it's a bit ridiculous, one of the head staff came over with my eggs finally and stated she was sorry, and that they took that off the bill. She said the cook was having a hard time with my eggs. It would have been easier to tell me he wasn't able to make them and I could have picked a different way to cook them. Instead they don't tell the customer anything and leave you sitting waiting for your food. So I told her that being a diabetic and all it would have been nice to know the food was going to take so long. Also you would have thought they would bring out the begneits while we waited for the main dishes, but they did not. We felt it was really...

We had a reservation to have brunch for my son's birthday. From service to food quality to ambience, I can't recall a worse brunch experience or value. The valet were on their phones watching videos.. My wife waited about 5 minutes to be greeted. The bartender had to call someone from the back to the host stand. We had to wait another 5 plus minutes to be seated. The restaurant did not appear to be busy, but it took 10 minutes to get a Bloody Mary and we waited a substantial amount of time for our entrees. Our server apologized twice (never told us her name). When we finally got our food, our eggs were completely overcooked and the Hollandaise had a film on it from sitting under a heat lamp. We were all finished with our meals before we received our side items (breakfast potatoes) and "to make up for it" we were given two additional orders of potatoes that no one wanted. We were never visited by a manager or chef. My son said he wished we would've gone to Waffle House! It would've been better food, better service, and definitely wouldn't have cost $260.00. At least we can scratch a brunch place off...

Inside the Watermark Hotel. A bit pretentious but not without charm. The draft beer selection was surprisingly down to earth but the vegetarian options were scarce (I had googled a vegetarian restaurant). I didn't want to stuff myself with a cream ravioli dish for dinner and settled for a house salad and a forage flatbread. The salad came in an incredibly nice earthenware, was in itself good but drenched in vinaigrette with an acidity that was too harsh and did not leave space for the taste of the veggies. The foraged flat was advertised as containing locally farmed mushrooms and I was looking forward to tasting earthiness. What I received was well meant but poorly executed. The mushrooms came mixed with whole, softened cloves of garlic, blue cheese, way too much salt, and a healthy helping of honey. I did not taste mushrooms at all. I ate half of the flatbread and picked some mushrooms bits from the second half that turned out to be good as far as I could tell under salt and honey. Staff was good.

I celebrated my birthday dinner here with friends in 2023, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Valet parking made arrival easy, and the ambiance set the tone for a classy night out. The food was absolutely amazing — flavorful, beautifully presented, and well worth the visit. What stood out even more was the building’s architecture. The original design and elevators have been preserved, giving the space a unique charm that blends history with elegance. Overall: 5/5. Highly recommend for a sophisticated evening in downtown Baton Rouge.
