This experience was quite disappointing. The check-in area is located at a diver discovery spot around the corner from the house we stayed at (309). Upon arrival, I noticed several oriental rugs placed outside, which was a first for me. As we walked in a musty smell hit me immediately and lingered throughout the house. Although we were aware that the property was dated, we were unprepared for the bugs, the unpleasant odor, and the surprising requirement to rent sheets and towels. Even then, only two towels were provided for our group of four. When we opened the Ziploc bag containing the sheets, we were overwhelmed by a strong smell of feet.
After sitting on the couch for about 10 minutes I developed a rash, which may have been caused by bugs as we noticed the presence of mosquitos and cockroaches. The photos online did not accurately reflect the condition of the house. An entire section, which included several stalled bathrooms that are no longer in service, was completely left out of the listing. The price was around $289 per night. While the sleeping arrangements (three sets of bunk beds and a queen bed) seemed generous, the reality was far from appealing. The bunk beds were noticeably sagging, and the queen mattress had been flipped upside down, seemingly to hide a large stain.
We waited a couple of hours before making the decision to leave, as this was a bachelorette trip and there was nowhere else available to stay at the time. However, after seeing the condition of the house, we all agreed that even staying for one night just wasn’t worth it.
We went back to the office for a refund. While they did agree to the refund, they initially seemed hesitant about the sheets and tried to offer “new sheets” which I found strange. Only after suggesting that they smell the sheets themselves did they acknowledge the issue. There was no real apology for the inconvenience caused but the refund was processed. I can tell they are attempting to update and make this area nicer, but in my opinion, they have a...
Read moreI had such disappointment with this place, first before all..!! They say PET friendly..! Be prepare for whatever reason they are going to charge you over 200 for pet for 1 only day, this for us that only booked for a day was exorbitant ... 1 day almost $500!! they find whatever excuse saying you did damage the carpet and blaming you it was your pet..! when it was not, Be aware they got more money that way..! They dont allow you to even say you were not guilty… they dont listen and charge you anyway..! and at the time of checkout they dont check it, so they charge automatically to your account and when you call to complain and say it was not you..! that the room was like that... they charge you the additional $200 and even the manager hang the call on you leaving you talking by yourself and they dont answer the phone anymore..! I made the complain because even the rooms are smelling like humidity and it is not the “great” thing like for paying for 1 room close to $300..! and even charge you $200 more for "your pet". You guys lied that my pet damaged the carpet and it was a not true..!, we even were not in the room because always we were out in the beach. The rooms are old, and so noisy as there is a shop at the side, you can hear frequent and continuously so much noise and people screaming in streets during nights..! so kids get waking up all night..! It has been so far the worst place I stayed and they took advantage of me.. Be careful, they take copy of your credit/debit card, and they keep it ..! be careful not do allow that. Never ever to come back to this old and smelly place. Even is not close to any nice beach, you have to drive...
Read moreLoved the little condo. It was cute and quaint and well appointed. It was a little confusing finding out how to check in The woman on the phone told me I had to check in at the dive shop next door, however, there is an empty house next door to the condos that has a large dive shop sign out front. It took us awhile to figure out that we had to pull into the marina parking lot next door and drive all the way to the back. Then you finally get to the "real" dive shop and there is a tree in front of what looks like an entrance so you have to walk around the side. After I got the key and went back to the condo there was a guy parked in the lot thinking he had been ripped off because the condo office was empty and it wasn't clear where to go to check in. They need a large sign...visible from the road....on the closed condo office telling people to check in at the dive shop. They need to either get rid of the dive shop sign on the empty house next door or put a huge arrow pointing to the marina entrance with directions on how to actually get to the dive shop. There should also be a fairly large sign on the front of the dive shop telling you that this is where you check in for the condos. If they spent some money on signage it would make life easier. After saying all of that...the condo was great and economical. You get what you pay for though. There is no view and you are not right downtown...but if you are on a budget and are looking for just a place to sleep while visiting the crystal coast this...
