One of the best places to visit in the area. Depending on what is going on, you can watch people building model boats or real wooden boats. It's right across the street from the Beaufort Maritime Museum, which raffles of one of their built from scratch boats each year & is an excellent place to visit as well. Both are free and open...

An amazing facility where the public can watch up close how wooden boats are built and repaired in a traditional manner. There are multiple vantage points for viewing and the staff is more than willing to answer questions and engage the visitors. Definitely a place to stop and enjoy when visiting...
