we've been taking our whole family to the pirates revenge tour, since 2021. we haven't regretted it ONCE. the kids go on and on about it, all year. they tell all their friends and family about it. in the winter, our kids tell us they miss their pirate friends and can't wait to see them again. we were unable to go last year, and we were all really sad about it. so this year we went twice. once for the regular tour, and once for the haunted tour. our kids loved both, as usual. I tell everyone with ears, GO. I can't recommend them enough. it's a fun experience for the whole family. and I was so impressed with the haunted tour. it was so informative and fun. the entire tour, both of them, is fun and entertaining from start to finish. the first time we ever went, it was on a whim from googling local events. and I cried real tears of happiness because it was such a core memory for our kids. those pirates are doing some seriously amazing work. those guys give such an amazing gift to kids. on one little boat ride, they get to dream BIG, use their imaginations, be seen, be involved, adventure. I've seen so many kids start the tour, not wanting to join in, scared, nervous, shy. by the end of the ride, they're smiling, dancing, laughing, and wanting to spray Pirate Kegger in the face with water, just a much as the rest of us. Captain Spike, thank you for always being fun and keeping things fresh and new, and going out of your way to make others smile. Thank you for all the fun memories and laughter, for the whole family. Having fun and breaking the ice with a boat full of strangers is a daunting task, but you make it look easy. Thank you for learning Pose 28 for our Dressed to Impress addicted tween. š Fetuccine, thank you for making each of our kids feel seen and welcome, and daring them to adventure together. You can transform the most nervous, shy child into a daring, rambunctious pirate in record time. You are the brightest smile and bravery-inducing voice. You are the warmest hug on the Seven Seas. š Kegger, no one does it better. You're a gift, truly. You've done what others dream of, and had such a huge impact on so many kids lives. Whenever you walk away, which i can only hope is a very very very long time away from now, just know that you didn't just play a part- you're a legend to them, and you've earned that. You taught kids that if they really want to make their lives magical, they can. If you're ever sitting there wondering if it was all worthwhile, know that for us, it was. Yo ho. š Gouda, thank you for joining our favorite crew. I hope you have as much fun as we do. This was the first year we saw you, and we were thrilled to meet you. You did great! You're part of a very special group of people, that make kids wildest dreams come true. I cant thank you enough for helping to make that happen. I think you fit right in, and I hope we see you again. š we love you, Fetuccine, Spike, Keggy, and Gouda!!! love from the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a great time on our āPirate Cruiseā! Itās geared towards kids, and our kids loved it. The pirates are interactive, and keep kids engaged the entire boat trip. Thereās basically no down time for them to ever get bored or lose their focus. The boat ride starts with the kids doing their āpirate trainingā, and then culminates in fighting off a pirate attack at the end. This isnāt a scary kind of pirate attack, itās a very clearly pretend and silly event where the kids get to fire water cannons at an attacking pirate. Donāt get me wrong, itās absolutely fun for adults too, but a part of that is getting to see your kids having fun.
The boat stays in Taylorās Creek, the area between Carrot Island and Beaufort. That being said, thereās basically no waves and itās a low speed event. My wife has a tendency to get sea sick and she was 100% fine on this trip. The boat ride was scheduled for an 1.5 hours, and I think it ended up taking us about an hour and 20 minutes.
Ultimately we had a great time. I felt like the pirates went above and beyond in their performance and interaction with the kids. There was one pirate āFettuccineā, who stayed with the kids the whole time, kept them engaged, and amazingly learned every kids name. The captain and the ābadā pirate, āKeggerā, were great as well. The captain gives the adults some history of the area, and you do get to look for some wild horses as well if youāre in to that.
We would absolutely do this again and recommend it to anyone with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe sunset ghost cruise was a random find. My wife and I were just walking by and decided to go on this. My wife loved the experience and I loved the historically based stories. This would be a GREAT life experience for kids who love pirates and ghost stories. I would recommend between 5 and up. The staff has clearly worked together for years and are very professional. The center of attention is a pirate by the name of kegger. A giant of a man who helps to pull the entire experience together with his banter and boisterous laugh. The female pirate fettuccini who has an amazing ability to deliver the stories with a fantastic narrative tone as well as offering a softer "pirate side" for children. And finally captain spike who offers a modern comedic banter and liveliness. You have to ask him to "floss" or as he put it, do the "piggy wiggle". At the end of the day this is a great experience if you are ready to have one. It's clearly a small town mom and pop opperation and the sort of non commercialized experience I search for. Side note, you can bring an adult beverage but be respectfully discreet. With that said I was named Captain Scotch on our...
