Wife and I have done dozens of escape rooms, and for a mom and pop operation this was one of the best. We've done two rooms here since the pandemic. Jonathan (pic) likes to make most of the puzzles himself with custom cut pieces, cranks, cogs, even a combination lock made out of wood. Thumbs up! Puzzles flowed well from one to the next, the props worked, and there was usually more than one thing to solve at a time, so groups could work independently. Game Master was attentive and knew exactly where we were when we needed a clue. Group members got nervous and insisted on asking for one clue 40 minutes in, but we finished with nine minutes left so we didn't really didn't need it. Puzzle Master was very attentive and clearly following our gameplay closely. We were the very last group to run his original Madman room that's been in operation for 4 years. So the proprietor (in red) agreed to let me take photos inside the room for this review. The Sherlock Holmes reinvent of this room for 2023 and beyond was fantastic. One of the best rooms we've done. We did it with three but we've been better with five. Tho crowded above 5.

I visited with my family on our vacation today and had a great time! Our gamemaster Brian set up the room quickly and was friendly and helpful. We did the pirate-themed room, and despite my initial impression that the room would be too easy since it was geared for beginners, we still ended up needing a couple hints towards the end of the room. This room, unlike others I've done, did not require you to crawl around on the floor to get to other rooms. There were several unique locks that I'd never seen before. Props to Escape Lookout Adventure Games for providing a unique experience that my whole family could enjoy.

Fun way to spend an hour at the beach. The escape is perfect for 4 people because you can do some things simultaneously. There were a couple quirks that we found in the escape room but overall it was a fun experience. Suggestion for owners: 1) if you know that there’s a key section that gets stuck you should probably let people know at the beginning or add a sticker (fix the upper door for the secretary gate) 2) some of these clues aren’t very accessible friendly 3) the flashlights kept dying on us (it would be great to have more lighting)

My family and I visited this place 2 summers ago and did their detective room and beat it- pretty fun- and then last summer and did their pirate room. Although we didn't make it too far it was a great experience, so this year on our annual trip we brought a few friends and went to take it on again. I don't know what happened, but it was not the same company I remembered. We were more than disappointed, and I was a bit embarrassed actually. I have done a few rooms around our area and beyond, but we spend summers visiting relatives here. I was so fondly excited as the Blackbeard room was one of my favorites I could not stop talking about it for weeks after. I told my friends (after the room) how the first time we went a pirate jumped out and scared us and gave a big introduction and then the room ended with a skit as well. It was all done so well! The locks were unique, the effects, sounds, and music all fit together. Not this time. I gave it two stars because of how awesome it was last year. This year there was no pirate, hardly any special effects and sounds, and the person that ran the room just really seemed to not know where we were or what we were doing when we asked for hints. The cool locks I remembered were replaced with new dime a dozen locks, the paint that made it look like a fortress was peeling and missing in some places - the entire place and staff just looked worn and neglected. The guide, while nice, showed no real enthusiasm like our previous game guide did. We were also surprised to see the 1st room we ever did, 3 summers ago, still there - we had been told it would be changed to the next part of the story and we were hoping to do that one as well. Our friends said they weren't sure if they would want to spend that type of money in the future, so I treated them to another local company that has escape rooms and they marveled at the difference. I don't think we'll be back next year to this...

This was my first escape room but my family of 8(all over 13 yrs old) decided to try it out. I was immediately thrown off by the bad quality of the info video shown to us before we started. But we were then thrown into the room with no back story or theme to try and keep to. (We overheard that the intro video was not done yet.) Who knows if it would have helped. The puzzles were not related with some of no use whatsoever. No purpose, no plan. After given a clue that was already shown to us we all felt like we were spinning our wheels. We still don't know what a few puzzles had to do with anything. The game master gave vague clues over the speaker but we could not hear because of poor audio. When the game was over the young man showed us how to solve one puzzle but it didn't lead to anything. All in all we solved at least six puzzles and locks but it didn't matter. At $30 per person I cannot recommend this "new" escape room theme to anyone. I should have picked up on the clues before we started such as no intro video, some puzzles don't work, some technical difficulties, and a blank leader board for July. This puzzle would have been very hard if not impossible for kids 16 and under. The young man wouldn't explain anything, said that we had a lot more to do, and said that it was late and he had to get up...

2 stars because we liked the room, but unfortunately that was all.

First there was no bathroom for us to use. We were told to go to the restaurant next door. If we are going to a place of business where we are paying for an hour long service there should be a bathroom on- site for us to use. I'm sure the restaurant next door doesn't appreciate us using their restroom when we are not their customers.

We asked about the cost for our 6-year-old to play and they said if we already paid for him there was nothing they could do, but if we hadn't we didn't have to pay for him. So we paid $30 for him to join us...(never had to pay for him to do a room before).

The game master came in as soon as our time ended and we had a key we were trying to use to open a box and he asked us not to because he would have to clean up the room when we leave.

Some of the sensors in the room weren't working so we wasted a lot of time trying to get things to open that weren't opening. When we asked for help we were given some clues that we had already figured out.

Overall we were very disappointed. And we never got our photo he was suppose to send us.

I wanted to let everyone know that the management was quick to respond to my complaints and rectified the situation. I will be happy to give them...
