If you are looking for a no frills boutique this may be what you want. When I say NO frills, I mean NONE. There's nobody working onsite so you will not get that breathing down your neck feeling of service. In fact the entire process feels more like you're speaking with AI. They are quick to reply to a text with little to no effort or effectiveness but thats all part of the fun. Upon entering you are first greeted with an unlocked front door. Security must not be an issue here. Our room was small and lacked a working coffee maker, or microwave (plug by microwave didn't work). The Coffeemaker in lobby was just a few feet away but there were no cups and that too didn't work. The requested terrace didn't have chairs but our AI service suggested a folding one in storage closet that didn't exist. What did exist were someone's hair on our towels and a few of the smallest most adorable shampoo bottles one can imagine. The complex comes with free bikes to tour the island but after going back and forth with a non human over text for a few hours, we reserved two fro an afternoon. Those two bikes were not there so the AI replier gave us two move but those were broken. So I would suggest bringing your own bikes. If you are considering camping in a tent but want better location, The Emerald nails it. If you want any sense of where your money is going, I'd suggest pretty much anywhere else. Read moreMy wife and I recently spent 2 days at this hotel. It is in the heart of the historic district (which is the most spectacular aspect of this charming city). Our stay was extraordinary! Location was close to parks, downtown, beach and our stay was quiet and relaxing. The room was spacious, clean, and well equipped. There is even a lift for those with mobility problems (I have a bad back and the lift was a godsend with our luggage, or should I say with my wife's luggage). Parking, check-in and check-out were easy (it is all remotely controlled) and access to assistance was 24/7 (which we tested and found to be quite responsive). I found the process better than dealing with on-site, disgruntled staff that we seem to meet at most other hotels. As for Beaufort, we are looking for a place to call home; a city that is walkable, bikeable, where the locals are friendly, and the traffic is bearable. This is a very welcoming city. It is now on the top of our list. Thanks for the wonderful stay in your exceptional city! Thanks!...
Read moreRecently stayed here for a Labor Day weekend getaway. The property is beautiful! It's also in an excellent location, close enough to walk to all of the shops, restaurants and sights, while also being next to a gorgeous, historic neighborhood. We strolled through there more than a few times. The property is all self-serve, which for introverts like ourselves is ideal :) Our room was beautiful, and comes with a great kitchenette (and even a complementary bottle of wine!). The shower is to die for, and I decided this is the shower setup I want in my own home haha. So nice!
There were only two downsides. Unfortunately the walls are quite thin. We could often hear our neighbors talking, walking, even snoring at times. We also could clearly hear the noise from the main road. They do provide a nice white noise machine, but we were still woken up some. We also were not able to use our cute balcony due to wasps.
Overall, it's a lovely property and we would recommend, as long as a little noise...
