Maybe I caught them on a bad day, I dunno. From what I was told, it was a very popular place. I first purchased 2 cups of regular coffee, and I love strong dark roast coffee, but their coffee tasted bitter and burnt. I thought I'd give them a second chance and ordered a Hazelnut latte with two extra shots of espresso, and it was like trying to drink hot, very sweet milk. Would I go back? No!!

Coffee time! I was here at 6:30am and the gal behind the counter was dishing up coffee and pastries for locals and hotel guests. There are a couple small tables inside so it's possible to spend some laptop time here but it's not idea for more than an hour or two as it's not really laid out as a "coworking" space. Coffee was excellent and the wifi worked well.

This quaint little coffee shop in the Heart of Downtown Beaufort. If you l9ve coffee, you will live City Java's selection of delicious coffees. I chose to go with the Oku Mountain Ebony because I love dark, rich coffee, but the others were quite delicious as well. The owner was so friendly! She was so helpful in suggesting local favorites.

Really unhappy with my recent experience. My usual coffee spot was closed so figured I’d give City Java a try. I ordered a half decaf almond milk latte and that is not what I got. First, the girl working put half regular espresso mixed with decaf in the portafilter. I worked at a coffee shop for many years and I’ve never seen that in my life. Usually pour separate shots. Then she half steamed the almond milk, haphazardly poured it into the cup with the espresso shots while taking to another customer. After pouring it in, she then added more COLD almond milk to the “latte”. I literally got a 12oz cup of warm almond milk, couldn’t even taste any espresso. I was in a rush so didn’t have time to ask for a remake. I ended up throwing it out it was so awful. Complete waste of $5. Live in town, won’t be...

I have been meaning to write this review for a good while. This place is my personal moment of bliss. After leaving Austin, Texas, I have had a hard time having that same connection in previous coffee shops I would frequent. This one has changed the game for me. I enjoy having my morning and afternoon walks to visit City Java. I haven't had a poor experience with with anyone who has made my drinks and I know I am extra with my coffee :D COVID made our lives a lot harder, but these guys take time to also take care of their guests and have a great attitude. Thank you so much. You are officially my favorite coffee shop here in Beaufort.

I also highly recommend staying at the City Loft Hotel. I love the simplicity of the design, it's modern, but still has a southern comfort to it. The bathtub was...

Absolute best coffee we had on our recent trip by far! Could not really find a good iced coffee during our trip until the last day of our stay when we stumbled upon this little shop while walking around on Sunday morning. I was so thankful to get a delicious coffee! The place was so adorable inside too! The atmosphere was great and the staff were so friendly! I'm glad we know this shop is there now - just wish we would have found it on day 1! :) We love local shops...
