We checked in on short notice. We were helped my Mikayla, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. She asked where we were from and what we were doing in town, and we let her know that we were in town for my girlfriend to find an apartment to move I to for her new job. Mikayla gave us excellent recommendations based on her own experience, which ultimately played a major part in our decision.
The lobby is very nice and has an in-house restaurant. There were complimentary fresh baked cookies that were delicious. Also, they have free lemon/ginger water that is absolutely the greatest water either of us have ever had. We came down at least six times over our stay to get this water. Our room was affordable for the two nights we stayed, was very clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was nice, the shower/tub was pretty standard with a nice shower head with perfect water pressure.
As far as the bed goes, it was good, but not the most comfortable bed we've had at a hotel. This may be because we both prefer beds in the softer side. The bed was somewhat soft, but also didn't feel like a luxury bed. I may just be spoiled by my nice, soft memory foam mattress, so it's hard to judge. The one thing about the bed that is very annoying, and this has been in the Hampton I've stayed in a few times also, is the dubmvet cover. The top sheet gets messed up easily and is difficult to correct.
The entertainment/cable was just standard. You have the option to order a few different movies On Demand, and you get the standard cable channels. I would much prefer and actual channel guide and more premium channels. This one only had one HBO channel. I've stayed in cheaper hotels recently with multiple HBO and Showtime options, and a channel guide with plenty of options.
Also, we were warned after booking that the floors were scheduled to be cleaned the morning of our last day at the hotel on our floor. It was a bit noisy and an inconvenience, but it has to be done I guess. I would have liked a reduced rate for the inconvenience though. Also, while we were out and had the do not disturb placard in the door, someone came into our room and placed a flier on our bed about the floor cleaning, despite being told they would slip it under the door which was a bit weird.
I was disappointed that there isn't a free continental breakfast. There is a breakfast, but at a cost of $13. I'm sure it's a great breakfast and looked like there were many great options, but I'm used to a complimentary option.
Lastly, I requested a late checkout and was allowed to stay until 1:30 instead of 12pm free of charge, which was nice.
All in all, it was a pretty good stay for a decent price. My biggest concern is mplaint was the floor cleaning without a discounted rate, but then again I did book through a 3rd party, so that may have been my fault.
You can't really go wrong here, but it is possible there are better options in the same area at a similar price point. I wanted to stay at the Embassy Suites, but they were booked, so I am glad that we gave this place a shot. The lemon ginger water was seriously a...
Read moreWhen I checked in at 410pm on a Thursday December 12, 2024. The front Desk Lady who works 3pm to maybe 11pm was very Nice, minus saying your room isn't ready but I can give you a room near the exit on the first floor ( room 101 ) in which I bring my bags in and had to find out when I couldn't get back in that the door was out of order ( wasted 20 minutes of my time) so I had to walk with my bags all the way around to the front door. Why get me excited about being near a side exit door and not tell me it doesn't work. And the check in is 4pm. All the other Hiltons check in at 3pm and when you arrive at 4pm ot 5pm they have your room ready. There was also fresh stains on the towels as if they ate while stocking the room with towels. The 6am to maybe 3pm Front Desk Lady is a Racist. She always takes 15+ minutes to renew my stay. I ask questions and she has a attitude and say yeah okay. But I watch her when a White person comes and she smiles and talks to them as if they're her Family and jokes about me. Definitely a Racist. As a Diamond member and Hilton Share holder, I didn't feel welcomed here. The AC was locked at 78 and often blew cold air out which would be good for the summertime but it is Winter and there was lows in the 30s so why not let us get it to 82. That took a star off the review by itself. The front desk Lady or Ladies took 2 stars off because 1st shift Lady was rude and mean and 2nd shift Lady was the type who smile in your face while messing you over. Why hire only white women, that alone is a red flag. The best places are places that are diverse. Where there is a team of whites only, its a high chance of Racism. How do I know, I travel the country for work thats why im a Diamond member. I spend a lot of money with Hilton and this was not proper treatment. So I don't recommend this Hotel. Carpet needs Shampooing and they make you pay for Breakfast, and the breakfast isn't better than the free breakfast at other hilton hotels. Thats a star off as well. Paying $15 for a Breakfast that's supposed to be included. I ate better free breakfast at the Double tree by Hilton, Homewood, Home 2 and everyone knows Home 2 breakfast is usually bad. The Orange juice was watered down. Bacon was burnt yet they...
Read moreFD agent Yvette was amazing.
Had a few hiccups but she went above and beyond.
Decent hotel.
Nice lobby.
Has coin laundry on the first floor.
Small indoor pool.
Small fitness gym.
Breakfast and dinner restaurant.
Update: There are some great staff and there are some staff members that can ruin your stay.
Thomas at front desk was one of those employees that definitely took what Yvette did and turned this good review (originally ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4- stars) into a 👎🏽 boooo 2-star review.
He's condescending and completely unhelpful. I don't even want to go into the details, because it's such a waste.
Earlier in our stay, Yvette, offered us a free entree for dinner, we were grateful.
But, the server and the food made a 'free' meal seem like a bad deal. Worst server ever. Just lazy and disrespectful. Slow, unengaged, gave major attitude, and rolled her eyes while answering questions about the menu. I only had 2 questions. (Actually one was asking her recommendation).
When I saw my soup sitting out for a few minutes... I watched her use her phone and talk with the bartender. I went up to the counter and let her know I'd like to start with my soup. She said 'uh huh, I put it in.' Ok. Fine. I saw my soup sitting out.
I sat back down and she took her time to bring the soup. Kept talking to the bartender, talked to the cook, grabbed a plate to put under it, grabbed crackers, spoon... then, brought it over.
It was clam chowder, so since it sat out there was that crusty film on top that happens when a potato cream base soup sits out for a bit. Gross.
The rest of the meal went down hill. Not good. Definitely not worth it if you had to pay for it. Overpriced and not good.
I was so exhausted with all the issues we had with this hotel, I don't even want to get into it anymore. It's just a total FAIL for me.
Really...
