.Our room was basically clean, but we did notice when we entered the room one of the beds looked like someone had been sitting on it because the top cover had prints in it as if someone had been sitting there. We also noticed several stains on bed covers. We noticed the middle window was unlocked and the screen had been slightly moved. We were on the ground level floor, so we immediately fixed the screen and locked the windows so we would be safe. We also noticed a smoke smell in our non-smoking room. We do not smoke. We found some gummy candy was left on floor near the setting room table along with a plastic spoon that was located next to the door. I picked up the candy to put in trash, but left the spoon were it was. We found ants in the bathroom and our room only had one very small trash can that was in the bathroom. Mattresses were not very comfortable and I felt like I was sleeping on springs with just a single layer of padding. We came down for breakfast around 7: 30AM Saturday morning. The breakfast room was packed with guest, which was to be expected. The man stocking the breakfast bar did a great job at keeping all the breakfast foods stocked up. Unfortunately there were no plates to get our food, just bowls. Apparently the manager had not come in yet to unlock the supply closet so they could stock the plates for breakfast. They had extra bowls in their kitchen supply area, but no plates. The breakfast man that kept everything stocked and the man at the front desk apologize multiple times and assured everyone they could use as many bowls as needed to get their breakfast foods and that as soon as the manager came in they would have plates to set out. As we were leaving from eating our breakfast which was very tasty, plates were finally brought in and stocked for the remain guest. That was around 8:30AM. We saw the pool area, but was unable to use it during our stay due to we were busy visiting local family members. The pool area did look well kept and clean so we would definitely want to use it if we stay again. The room was outdated and for the price per night and other fees, along with uncomfortable mattress, stains on bedcovers, window unlocked, ants and room not throughly clean is the main reason I rate the suite an 7. I understand cost has gone up on everything and your hotel is very busy, but I have stayed at cleaner and better kept hotels for lesser than $396.12 for a two night stay. Originally I booked it for 3 adults and 1child age 15, unfortunately my daughter and granddaughter were not able to come with us, so I tried to change my booking to a smaller room for just me and my husband, on June 4, but the online room accommodation edit would not allow me to make any changes to our stay. I was concerned if I cancelled my room it wouldn’t allow me to book another so that is why we kept the booking. If it hadn’t been for your friendly staff that really seem to be trying their best to keep up with the mandates of all the guest, I would have rated it lower. Overall this is why I gave a rating of 7...
Read moreWe stayed June 29th. This is a really cute hotel. The main event was the indoor/outdoor pool as our daughter loved it. Upon arrival, my daughter settled into her bed and found a hair roller in the bed. I have travelled through Europe and Asia & have a high tolerance for things going wrong at a hotel and I almost never complain, but a hair roller in the bed is new for me...upon closer inspection I don't think the top sheet was actually cleaned? There were visible stains so we decided to call the front desk and ask for our bedsheets to be changed.
A round of applause for the front desk staff. There seemed to be only 1 person working in the whole place at the time. She looked overwhelmed, which you would be if you were working at a busy hotel all by yourself? She offered to change/upgrade our room, and the next room was okay & comfortable. The bedsheets appeared clean. We enjoyed the pool, breakfast etc. The outdoor hot tub was in disrepair, but I guess you can't be too picky! There was a whirlpool indoors. The jets didn't work very well, so it's really just a warm pool. Some of the guests were not watching their children at all and no staff was near the pool. There were toddlers just wandering into a hot tub...that was concerning but I guess it's swim at your own risk, so....watch your kids? :)
Our biggest issue was getting in touch with the hotel in the days after our trip. Basically, I seem to have misplaced/left my prescription glasses somewhere on our trip. I think they were left at the hotel. Ugh. We were so tired after driving, we must not have done a thorough check and I was wearing contacts. On June 30th, July1st and July 2nd I repeatedly tried to call the hotel to talk to someone. On each day, I was led into a circular system of being transferred to the front desk and then back to choose 'another option.' When I chose another option, didn't matter what it was (housekeeping, manager, anything...) every mailbox was full. After three days of trying to speak to someone at the hotel to ask if they have seen my glasses (or not, so I can purchase new ones...) I'm honestly giving up. I sent an email, hoping somebody would respond and just give me a yes or no about whether my glasses were found.
I have a high tolerance for things going wrong with the room (problem was solved) and for being short staffed (it's like that everywhere) but I have a very low tolerance for people not responding to any calls or messages after three days. Not being able to talk to someone and being sent in a circular phone game of full voicemail boxes is unacceptable and a waste of time. Why have a voicemail system if the messages are not deleted/checked within 24 hours? I really hope after this review, someone is able to contact me and give me an answer. I would be happy to post a more positive review with a bit of help in knowing whether my lost item was found so I can either replace the glasses or offer to pay for the cost and extra time to mail them to me, as they are...
Read moreAbsolutely DO NOT STAY HERE. This should be a 1 star hotel. The only good thing about this place was the breakfast and the lady working it. To her, thank you.
At check-in the lady working was extremely unprofessional and although nice just I knew she had no idea what she was doing or even really saying. (I worked front desk at a Holiday Inn for over 2 years in a tourist area) We get checked in after traveling hours, traveling with my parents and small children. We get to the room and it Absolutely wreaks of BO and musty, the carpet looked awful. Walk over to the bathroom and clearly someone used the toilet, there were poop stains and pea all over the seat with the lid up and the shower curtain was moldy and black all across the bottom. We immediately get our stuff and go back downstairs and tell of the issues and she says do u want me to go ahead and just move your room. We said yes, my dad wanted to just leave immediately. Mind u this is a room we paid almost $200 for, I expect better at that rate. We get to the next room and although it was cleaner, you could tell it just had poor housekeeping management. The bed didn't have a blanket or sheet and the other was made up. And then we go to pull out the pull out bed and not only is it the worst mattress ever but the thing is covered in blood stains, and we were told the following morning they don't even provide sheets and a blanket for it they expect u to come downstairs and get them. I ask the lady to switch again and she says there is no more rooms available. So we r deciding if we want to just leave. Anyways I go downstairs and by that time it was a new guy at the desk. There were about 6 families standing they're all having issues at check in and a bunch of people came in to check in while I was waiting my turn. I tell the guy I'm needing sheets and a blanket and he says they r all out of blankets and pillows and goes and gets me sheets. If it wasn't for the mere fact we were all extremely exhausted and traveling with a baby we would have left. The following morning I spoke to (jason) who did in fact help with the red roof inn accommodations it doesn't take away the fact of everything. Housekeeping needs to be fired and the lady that was working last night needs to be fired as well. And I'm the most nicest and reasonable person but that was unacceptable Wish I would've taken pi s of the 2st room but we left the room...
