As someone who has lived on the East Coast and visited various Honest Restaurant locations, I can confidently say that Honest Bellevue in Seattle is "THE BEST". Every time I visit Seattle, stopping by Honest Bellevue is an absolute must. Compared to the Honest locations on the East Coast, the food at Bellevue is consistently outstanding.
I've visited the following East Coast Honest locations:
Honest Restaurant New York, NY Honest Restaurant Queens, NY Honest Restaurant Clifton, NJ Honest Restaurant Jersey City, NJ Honest Restaurant Parsipanny, NJ Honest Restaurant Edison, NJ
While some of these locations offers good food, but Honest Bellevue stands out for its exceptional quality and quantity. The restaurant is clean and hygienic, with quick service and a wide range of food options. The desserts, in particular, are extraordinary and a must-try for any visitor.
During my visits, I've enjoyed a variety of dishes, including:
Chaat/Appetizers: Vada Pav, Dabeli, Dahi Puri, Indian Style Bhakri Pizza.
Main Course: Pav Bhaji, Pulav, Bahubali Sandwich, Dabang Dosa, Rava Onion Masala Dosa.
Desserts: Ferrero Rocher shake, Various parfaits and pastries (which are out of this world).
Everything we've tried deserves a perfect rating of 10/10, with the parfaits and pastries being exceptional and beyond the scale.
Get a chance to meet the owner Mr. Anand, and his wife, Mrs. Falguni. They are incredibly down-to-earth and have successfully brought the authentic taste of Indian street food to Bellevue. Their passion for quality and authenticity shines through in every dish.
Honest Bellevue offers an incredible dining experience that caters to all ages and backgrounds.
If you're in the Seattle area or planning a visit, I highly recommend making a trip to Honest Bellevue. It's an unforgettable culinary experience that brings a taste of India right to your plate. Highly...
Read moreThis place is going down fast as far as customer service at the counter is concerned. The food is still 5 stars. I have been coming here since it opened and there were only takeout orders during covid.
Incident: Ordered takeout, reached the restaurant, there were 3 empty tables so I asked politely if we can eat at the table. The lady falguni(Ben) came out of the counter and started yelling that if you order to go you cannot eat at the table. Also when I went back to complain about the behavior she was yelling “only one line” at the other customers.
Hope the owners ask the people at the counter to take some customer service training and behave nicely. Will wait to see the response and see how my favorite restaurant treats its loyal customer.
original review posted 3 weeks ago: Still no response as of June, 20th 2023. We used to go there almost every weekend.
July 19, 2023 Thanks for the reply and it is encouraging that you are training your front desk employees to be more polite and courteous.
I would like to clarify on your mention of my requests as unreasonable and unfair to other customers. a) There was nobody waiting behind me and there were 3 empty tables next to the water fountain near the entrance. b) And since my young daughter was very hungry so I requested one of the 3 empty tables with no one waiting behind me in togo or dine in queue. I do not mind if you wanted to save the tables for walk-in customers, but there is a way to say that. You cannot shout and embarass a family who has been your patron since your inception.
After our experience there, My young daughter refuses to come to your restaurant anymore. Wishing you the...
Read moreAlright .. I rarely give any restaurant 1-star but this one unfortunately deserves it.
For context - a few days ago I ordered a pickup for a Masala Pav with bhaji, a chinese bhel with one other item, hoping for a trip down the memory lane since I grew with street food like this.
The review in short is - Jaana tha Japan pahunch gaye China samajh gaye na ... Most people reading this review will get the reference, its a old hindi song which roughly translates to .. I wanted to go to Japan and ended up in China instead. Absolutely did not meet my expectations.
Now for the specifics so that the owners (if they are reading this), can take this as feedback and attempt improvement. My wife picked up the food instead of me so I am going to limit my comments to the food itself and not the long wait times, lack of masks in a pandemic etc.
Masala Pav with bhaji - Reconstituted version of a pav bhaji had an extremely chewy pav, indicating it had been stored for sometime before use, gravy smelled of moldy onions and fat (oil replaced butter) seemed a little rancid. This plate was discarded promptly after the first few bites
Chinese Bhel - While I get this a dish that is not a start delicacy and everyone is entitled to their interpretations, Honest probably interpreted as Haka noodles. No crispy noodles, no schezuan sauce, but flaccid dry chewy noodles which may as well have been cooked the previous day. My recommendation is to watch a few YouTube videos on how street vendors make it in India and attempt to replicate that. Not complicated if you have the ingredients.
Sorry Honest, this was an honest review.. didn't want to...
